LOL...I have to admit, I'm more excited about football this year than the past few years, but let's not get ridiculous. The Tribe is only 3 games out of the wild card spot with over 2 months to go.....Pretty tough to put Browns and playoffs in the same sentence.

Santana has raised his average from .205 to .232 in the last 6 games, along with 6 homers, 10 RBIs and 3 doubles.

Meanwhile, in other regression related news, since Lonnie's 9 RBI game on June 9th, he has 9 total RBIs. His average topped out at .393 two days later. His has dropped 80 points off of that since then. He is quickly on his way back to his .266 lifetime average.

Wouldn't it be something if Santana ended the year with a higher average than Lonnie?

It'll happen, 'cause Chiz just got on a hot streak that he won't come close to again. Brantley is the only legit hitter the Tribe has this year, which makes it all the more surprising we are where we are.

Who was adding "Browns" and "playoffs" in the same sentence? Not me. The Tribe is done. At this point, only the baseball guys will follow this sinking ship. They are a .500 team, at best. Their play has shown it. I'm not saying that a run is "impossible" but by the way this team has been playing, it's highly improbable.

My point was that you can still put Tribe and playoffs in the same sentence. Would you dump the Browns if they were 1 game out of the wild card with 4 to go? Still a lot of time, and Francona is a proven manager.

Chisenhall is hardly the problem. It's pretty hard to keep your average at .390.

I don't anybody expected him to hit .390 or even .350. Just surprising how fast it has fallen. He could be below .300 before this week is over. More striking to me is that he only has 9 RBI's in almost 2 months since his career game.

Lonnie is batting just .216 for July.
