Yes, I did, and I think he did the right thing in both games with what he had to choose from. LeCure with 23 pitches tonight with 4/5 hitters reaching - it was time for him to go. If you get rid of the ones you are using when not ahead, who are you going to replace them with?

Takes LeCure out for Parra and Ondrusek? I mean, the guy is TRYING to lose...
LeCure gave up 4 straight hits

    WTH is Broxton???
  • Azubuike24
Yes, I posted the post before that. LeCure sucks. However, he brings in 2 guys worse.

Watch. The Reds will lose, and somehow, manage NOT to use their only 2 good relievers. The "hold" and "save" have ruined managers actually trying to win games.

    Fuck that...god damnit Price
If you are going to play winning baseball you can't use your best relief pitchers when you are tied or behind, except the closer in the 9th at home when it's tied!

It was 5-2 in the 7th. What happened to the "Chapman will be stretched" theory Price stated in the spring? Broxton in the 7th, Chapman for 8 and 9?

I mean, these are critical division games that the status quo use of middle relievers is costing the team. Saturday was a prime example.

If your going to play winning baseball, your lower end of the bullpen has to step up in games just like this(when your ace can only go 6, and your 7th inning pitcher struggles). Saturday they were an eyelash away(had the 13 P AB not happened) from Latos making it thru the 7th, and getting to use Broxton and Chapman.

    Ondrusek with a miracle
  • wildcats20
    Holy shit that was crushed.
  • Ironman92
    Shit fuck he's strong
  • mhs95_06
And there you go, the lower end didn't lose the lead, and now you can use the closer to clinch it. A little clutch hitting covers a lot of bullpen woes!

I still wonder why Chapman can only go 3 outs. That could definitely make up for some other issues if he could be extended.

Has Bruce got a tender elbow, and Price doesn't wan't him to blow it out trying to nail the tying or winning run at home?

Or does he want Chapman to not have to lead-off if Pitt ties it, and be able to go 2 innings?
  • Azubuike24
If this game even goes to the 10th, it's trouble. Chapman doesn't look the same tonight.

It's never easy with the Cincinnati Reds...

    What a contest!

I was about to get pissed

    Lol....good win in the end.

Reds are now ahead of the Pirates.

    Hopefully Bruce isn't hurt

I hope Billy's hands, wrists, feet, and ankles aren't too dinged up from his sliding hard into bases.
