Is Jason Whitlock a Steeler Fan?

  I've heard that from a few different people but can't really buy it.
  
  The Steelers barely defeated Green Bay and Baltimore and haven't looked close to being a team that's peaking or is dangerous. There is no swagger like in 2005 or 2008.

  New England is going to play for real.
  
  They're coming off a great performance against Jacksonville and want to build off of that on the road at Houston and heading into the playoffs.
  
  Plus, New England doesn't want to look like Indianapolis. That's been one of their big rivals. The Patriots no doubt will do the opposite and play to win.
  
  Not sure about Cincinnati but I think they could use some momentum going into the playoffs.

  Both New England and Cincy really have nothing to gain by playing full out for the entire game. I look for both to basically lie down at some point early in the third quarter, if not sooner.
  
  Gotta love the Jets, they get to make the playoffs because their final two opponents basically said: Go ahead and win.

  Ha I don't know how exactly you mean this but Green Bay and Baltimore are good teams. Baltimore just has some trouble in the discipline department. So beating both of these teams is an accomplishment compared to the rest of the season.

  Green Bay and Baltimore are good but I just don't see the Steelers as being hot all of a sudden. They've just made a few more plays the past couple weeks.

  Ha I just didn't know what you were getting at really. That is why I said what I did. The Steelers still have a good team. They just lost their mojo for whatever reason this year. I'm sure as a Steeler's fan you could name some of their problems like I could with the Ravens.

  You have to think if Aaron Smith and Troy Polamalu are healthy they're at least 10-5 right now instead of 8-7.
  
  Sometimes they're able to overcome injuries but I think those are the two guys from their defense they could not afford to lose.

  When Hampton and Smith are in there, it occupies three or four offensive blockers. That's what allowed the Steelers linebackers and defensive backs the freedom to get penetration and make more plays. It's all numbers. When you have 2-3 guys running to the ball there isn't going to be anywhere to run. When only one guy has to make the tackle, it's going to lead to more missed tackles and downhill running.
  
  Then you take Troy out of the lineup and he's often times the wild card with his speed and instincts. That creates more confusion.

  If Baltimore would have had Ed Reed all season and some decent cornerbacks then I think they would be better than 8-7 also.

  Yeah, Derrick Mason is still decent but he is getting old. They definitely need to make some moves in the off season. If they could get a big time corner and WR I would be stoked.

  I think New England wants to go in on a roll. They're kind of starting to peak and they'll want to play well at Houston.
  
  Now they could still pull guys in the second half but I don't see it being a mass lay down like the Colts.

  Well...Vegas always knows best...New England and Cincinnati are huge underdogs.....I don't think we are going to the playoffs this season.
