Laley23Jozy is cleared!!!
Wonder if he will start?? Almost HAVE to start him in case he re-injures it. Cannot afford to have him subbed in and injure it without another sub left to replace him. -
vball10setWOW!!!
-
Laley23I cant believe it took this long for a goal in this game. Definitely feel there is another in the last 10'. Just a matter of if its France on a counter or Nigeria...
-
vball10setAfter playing terrific for 80+ minutes, it almost appears as if Nigeria conceded the match after France scored.
-
Laley23Nigeria is a joke. That game was SO open and not even close to finished. They just quit, just like the USA game. Efan Ekoku is just appalled. He sounds embarrassed by his countrymen lol.
Anyway, France get the dagger...2-0. -
Laley23So, should Jozy play tomorrow??

I think so. If he was cleared, and he feels he can play and contribute, then by all means. This is the World Cup...'nuff said. -
Laley23
I think it is way more complicated then that.vball10set;1631655 wrote:I think so. If he was cleared, and he feels he can play and contribute, then by all means. This is the World Cup...'nuff said.
He obviously cant go a full 90'. So that means he is ideal to come off the bench. But, in that scenario, you risk using HIM as 1/3 subs and then him reinjuring it and having to either go with 10 men or use another sub (essentially 2/3) for 1 position/player.
Ideally, I would start him and hope he can go 60-70. But, Im just not sure that is logical thinking. Jurgen definitely has options at his disposal, which is a good thing now...but, at the same time it causes a lot to ponder. -
vball10setI try not to make things too complicated, Laley-lol. If he thinks he can go, and Klinsmann thinks he can go, then he should go. That being said, he should be in for as long as he can, just so he isn't hurting the team by doing so. IMO, it's that simple.

KB0938Germany is dodgin bullets
-
SportsAndLadyJozy should come in at halftime
-
SportsAndLadyOh and come on guys, Nigeria to beat France? France had looked really good and Nigeria the opposite. That was a no brainer choice lol
-
DeyDurkie5Yeah nigeria sucks. You guys were drinking the Kool aid
-
Laley23lol, did you watch the game? Nigeria could have easily won that.
They looked really terrible versus Argentina and Bosnia, didnt they? -
SportsAndLady
I didn't watch the game. But no way was Nigeria beating France today.Laley23;1631669 wrote:lol, did you watch the game? Nigeria could have easily won that.

lhslep134Total cop out answer, but I have to trust whatever Klinsmann chooses to do with Jozy. He's made all the right decisions so far (although after watching other teams with their "super subs" I would maybe kind of like to have Donovan available for that role).

lhslep134
Yeah Nigeria looked good and if a couple things go their way we're looking easily at extra time and maybe PK's.Laley23;1631669 wrote:lol, did you watch the game? Nigeria could have easily won that.

France was far from dominant. -
Laley23
Sorry, but I cant take your posts on the matter seriously then. It was an open game and Nigeria (and to be fair France as well) could EASILY have gone up 1-0 before the gift goal France was given in the 80'. Then, Nigeria basically quit and gave up an own goal lol.SportsAndLady;1631670 wrote:I didn't watch the game. But no way was Nigeria beating France today.
If they put home one of their chances and lead 1-0, they couldve won that game no doubt. France looked horrendous in the final 3rd. Benzema might as well have not even shown up today. Pogba and Valbuena were the only guys who came to play. -
lhslep134here ya go guys. I've already watched it twice and still have goosebumps. I love the use of Explosions in the Sky

Right but they lost 2-0. It was stupid to think France was going to lose to Nigeria.Laley23;1631673 wrote:Sorry, but I cant take your posts on the matter seriously then. I don't know what you want me to say, Nigeria isn't a good team and France has looked better than most teams in the WC, yet France was going to lose? Lol cmon -
Laley23
Its not like I said it Nigeria was better and should win. I admitted it would be an upset.SportsAndLady;1631676 wrote:Right but they lost 2-0. It was stupid to think France was going to lose to Nigeria.

But seriously, you are arguing something you didnt even watch. To think Nigeria couldnt have won today is absurd. This wasnt pack it in and hope for a counter. Nigeria took it to France. It was more even then I ever expected. 14 scoring chances to 9 (and 3 of those for France were after their goal and Nigeria were no longer playing defense). 52-48 possession % for France. 15 tackles apiece. Pass success 83%-79% for France. 59%-41% air balls won for Nigeria. 12-9 Corners for France.
I hope I dont see you calling for upsets in college basketball this year...cause, apparently, they just dont happen. -

I'm not arguing Nigeria couldn't have won today. I'm saying it was stupid to think before the game that they could beat France. Hope this clears up your confusion.Laley23;1631677 wrote:Its not like I said it Nigeria was better and should win. I admitted it would be an upset.

AutomatikFrance over Nigeria was a lock.
African teams this tourney have been a joke. -

I guess Im confused as to what an upset would be then? I would never say they should win, but predicted an upset based on the Nigerian games I have seen in this tournament. Thought their open play style could expose the French, and it did. Unlucky that France capitalized before them (and it took shit goalkeeping for it to happen).SportsAndLady;1631678 wrote:I'm not arguing Nigeria couldn't have won today. So, I guess Germany over Algeria shouldnt even be watched then...cause Algeria has been the best team of ALL four teams today. Not even close.Automatik;1631679 wrote:France over Nigeria was a lock.

EDIT: I agree with your premise. But, thats kinda the point of calling for an upset. Its an extreme longshot...just something you feel in your gut, usually.
