Bill Barnwell brought up an interesting explanation for it here http://grantland.com/the-triangle/world-cup-luis-suarez-bite-italy-uruguay/Laley23;1629557 wrote:I see at least a 25 game ban coming for him. If its anything less, Fifa should be burned down.
He also should probably have a psychological assessment done. He cant be all there, and if so, should probably just be banned. -

The best part of the article was the last paragraph that has the mini-rant against the idea that somehow athletes bad behavior is redeemed by on the field production.lhslep134;1629558 wrote:Bill Barnwell brought up an interesting explanation for it here http://grantland.com/the-triangle/world-cup-luis-suarez-bite-italy-uruguay/ -

Pretty sure I read that FIFA's rules allow for a max of 24 matches. But I would have to think that would cover at least 3 years.Laley23;1629557 wrote:I see at least a 25 game ban coming for him. If its anything less, Fifa should be burned down.

Well, I forgot how stupid it is that Fifa can only suspend him for Fifa matches lol.Mulva;1629577 wrote:Pretty sure I read that FIFA's rules allow for a max of 24 matches. But I would have to think that would cover at least 3 years.
So, yeah, I guess whatever the max is. I think I read 2 years...which would put him out of the Copa, at least. -

And the 2016 centennial copa.Laley23;1629578 wrote:Well, I forgot how stupid it is that Fifa can only suspend him for Fifa matches lol.

Thats actually the one I mean, since the USA will be in it. But yeah, he would miss both. Unfortunately, he would be back for any meaningful qualifying matches for 2018, I think.Mulva;1629579 wrote:And the 2016 centennial copa. -
sportchamppsBTW I'm totally Ok with the Italy red card. He went cleats up high on the guy. Anyone in his position knows how to make that same tackle without going cleats up.

Just watched it for the 1st time 2 minutes ago. Thats a red card every time. Cleats up, right at the guys knee? That was a terrible tackle.sportchampps;1629688 wrote:BTW I'm totally Ok with the Italy red card. He went cleats up high on the guy. Ill agree Ive seen worse not called a RC (De Jong anyone...?), but that doesnt mean this wasnt the right call. Same type of automatic call as a 2 feet sliding tackle. -
wildcats20@SportsCenter: THIS JUST IN: FIFA charges Luis Suarez for biting opponent. If found guilty, rules call for minimum ban of 2 matches, maximum of 24 months.
-
Raw Dawgin' it
For a 3rd time, he should be out the remainder. I like what the italian player said "FIFA wants their stars to play, lets see if they have the courage to do anything"wildcats20;1629783 wrote:@SportsCenter: THIS JUST IN: FIFA charges Luis Suarez for biting opponent. sportchamppsI think his last suspension was 10 games for biting so you would think a third time should be longer
-
AutomatikThe FA handled that suspension, FIFA will deal with this.

Correct. But, you have to think FIFA wont want to do anything less. Hell, wont even want to do anything even. I know they are corrupt as fuck, but they cant let a biter play again for a long time when its documented (even though handled by the FA) twice before.Automatik;1629858 wrote:The FA handled that suspension, FIFA will deal with this. -

It's pretty fucked up if he isn't out the rest of the tournament.Laley23;1629860 wrote:Correct. But, you have to think FIFA wont want to do anything less. Hell, wont even want to do anything even.
