The Memorial Tournament at Muirfield: Cheer for northeast Ohio's Justin Lower

Awesome article on how Lower overcame disaster to put himself in position to compete this weekend at Muirfield.

I've played with Justin two times as we share common friend. He's a very good golfer and a very good kid. He's seems to struggle with a pga setup course, but man that kid can go low on a muni setup course.

Yeah, I've played with him on a few occasions as well. Played with him at Chapel Hill in Mt. Vernon for his first time ever on the course. He proceeded to tie the course record from the tips with a 66. Excellent player, and you're right, GREAT kid.

Saw some blue rental Lexus' in the parking lot of my hotel in Columbus this morning with the Lexus logo and official rental car of the Memorial on the door.

Didn't recognize anybody last night or hanging around the lobby this morning.

I will be there. I'll be the guy wearing the golf shoes, the florescent, flat-billed Puma hat, practicing my golf swing with my umbrella.

I've only played with him locally here as my buddy golfed at Malone with him. Both times were at a course that's tough for an average golfer.. He could have shot a 59 if a few puts dropped in instead of lipped out. I believe he ended up with a 64 then which is outrageous to me.

    Yeah, I'm following here: http://www.pgatour.com/tournaments/the-memorial-tournament-presented-by-nationwide-insurance/leaderboard.html

You can follow each shot. Looks like he's got a bit of the jitters. If I remember correctly, he started slow at the Reno-Tahoe open last year when he played in a PGA event. Hopefully, he gets it on track and hits a few solid shots in a row to gain some confidence.

Would love for him to sink this birdie putt on 13!

I did like Rory being Tiger Jr. and wincing on every bad shot and perfectly fine on every nice shot.

Damn, I wish I was in Cbus. I love the Memorial and getting housed at the Bogey Inn.

Vball, I saw his round earlier. I was thinking to myself he was gonna have his lowest round (-9) followed by his worst round (+10) at one point...

I haven't seen any of it-what the hell happened? Was his knee giving him problems??

I shouldve said saw it online...on golftracker lol.

But, I assume so, yes. Though, he has been pronbe to some implosions in his career. But, 3 straight doubles is crazy for someone of his caliber.

This is what really stuck out to me-insane!

Phil went bogey-double-double to finish yesterday. And then started today with a bogey.
  • wildcats20
Rory also had a double hit at some point in that double bogey train ride lol
  • Laley23
Just saw it. Rory hit a tree, then a tree for double. Then in water for a double. Then in bunker twice (with a double hit) for a double. Actually sunk a bunker shot for par (and it mightve run by enough for another double). That mightve saved him 2 strokes and the cut.

Knee did not appear to be an issue. Just had a Rory implosion.

Phil better win the open this year because it sounds like he's heading to the pokey for insider trading based on media reports tonight.
