Reds @ Dodger Dogs...Part III

  • thavoice
Since none of you fuckers can win a game starting a game thread I will give it a go since I technically am undefeated....

WIth that said...reds get run ruled today.

On a related note.....I was told 4 women who went to that Baseball 101 event in Cincy 2 weeks ago (they did get to take a few cuts of BP...batting practice...not Brandon Phillips altho I imagine he was outside scoping out the debbies as they went in....) got call backs and may get signed for some hitting help on this squad.

Homer has the good karma this year.

Homer better be perfect. Reds won't score again.

C'mon Meso, do not try to pancake that 3rd strike low breaking ball!

Yep, all Cozart needed for an RBI was a ground ball with none or one strike! I really liked the strategy of bringing the infield in once he got 2 strikes.

Homer got Puig's attention and then he hit a HR

After Parra walks the tying run to lead off the 8th. Luck for the Reds prevails along with a good job by Broxton. The luck was that ethier bunted for an out on the same pitch that Gordon had 2nd stolen, so in effect the Dodgers used a sac bunt and a SB at the same time to only get one base, when they could have used a first out bunt to get him to 3B where Puig's back looking swing to the warning track would have gotten him in to tie.

When Chapman comes in to close the 9th, they need to move Pena to catch. Meso has trouble stopping the ball with the Chapman pitching and he is having a bad night as a backstop, so get him out of there.

On the first pitch, A. Gonz hits an easy ground ball to BP for a big first out.

Two key defensive plays really helped the Reds win tonight. In the 5th with the score 2-1 with two on and 1 out, Ethier hits a rocket right at Cozart who was screened by the runner. He handles it flawlessly and turns it into a 6-4-3 inning ending DP. Then to lead off the 7th, Homer's last inning, Homer gloved a firm grounder through the box after it went between his legs and started the inning off with a big out.
