Azubuike24Skeptical of being back in 3-4 weeks. I had the same surgery. Twice. Was able to run and squat within days. However, you don't gain 100% mobility and will take a long time to get all strength back. Months. If not longer. Especially for a baseball player.

You aren't a professional athlete. And you don't have their doctors.Azubuike24;1612611 wrote:Skeptical of being back in 3-4 weeks. I had the same surgery. Twice. I don't think Votto is back, even now, to where he was before the injury, maybe 70-80%! Anybody hear when Bruce hurt himself? I think about a week or so ago I remember him fooling with his knee after had run to 3B.sherm03;1612596 wrote:My buddy tried to reassure me saying that if Votto can come back from a knee injury, so can Bruce. My response: "Great...so Bruce will be useless the rest of this season...have half his power next year...and will be back to normal in 2016?" -

I could literally sprint in 4 days. Swelling was frequent, but there was minimal pain. The problem is, the mental discomfort and mobility will affect him longer than 3 weeks. It will hurt the team. That's why I said whether he's a professional or no, it may not matter in the grand scheme of things. The procedure is routine. He'll be playing within 3 weeks possibly. He just won't be 100%. Remember Votto's meniscus tear? He hasn't been able to drive the ball the same since. My comment was basically that for an already struggling offense, this team needs Bruce to have his typical 30/100/40 doubles. He was already struggling, and I HIGHLY DOUBT after this he will post anywhere near that the rest of 2014.SportsAndLady;1612614 wrote:You aren't a professional athlete. I hope I'm wrong, but the injuries keep mounting. -
Azubuike24
Exactly. People downplay this injury because you can get back to playing so quickly. However, it can take years to get back to having zero mobility, flexibility or mental limitations with your knees. It's gotta be frustrating as an athlete too because expectations are that if you're on the field/court, you should be who you have been.mhs95_06;1612619 wrote:I don't think Votto is back, even now, to where he was before the injury, maybe 70-80%! thavoiceAnother hit to this squad.
Maybe they will do what they did when Votto was gone....doubt it.
Sat was at a sporting goods store and some lady bought 4 Reds hoodies and she said her son played for Louisville and was going to be called up for the boston series and they were going.
At first I thought that was odd, but with having the DH maybe they were going to bring up a position player/hitter for the series.
Oh well.
Good to win 3 of 4. Couple of off days now this week. Gotta keep it going and not fall far behind whle guys are hurt -

Has to be Ruben Gotay. Only major league caliber player in Louisville, or close.thavoice;1612672 wrote:Another hit to this squad.

I checked out their roster and thought maybe LaMarr since he is on the 40 man, but he is on the 7 day DL and I was assuming he was a position player.Azubuike24;1612692 wrote:Has to be Ruben Gotay. Only major league caliber player in Louisville, or close.
Who knows.. She did lay down over $300 for the hoodies so she must be confident!
That was before Bruce went down, and I am not sure the extent of the Pena injury so that could all change. I know this lady was confident as she said they were going to Boston to watch the games. -
SportsAndLadyMaybe it was corky millers mom

Buddy of mine said that too, but it was before Pena got hurt and I would imagine she would have reds gear already.SportsAndLady;1612705 wrote:Maybe it was corky millers mom -
Azubuike24Corky's mom probably has Reds gear from 2000...
