Cincinnati Reds @ Shizburgh Pierats - Game 1

RotinajSo how long does Meso have to hit .500+ before we are aloud to constantly complain about him not moving up in the lineup.
-
Ironman92Bullpen is a solid F
-
Ironman92Parra ain't fooling anyone
-
wildcats20Cutch is such a damn beast
-
se-alumBases loaded, Hoover not so good in these situations.
-
se-alumLOL...complete misplay by Phillips, then Meso whiffs on the throw by Bruce. FFS!
-
Terry_TateThat last play will not be used for any Tom Emanski defensive videos. What a fuckup.
-
Azubuike24Can anyone defend that effort by Phillips? I mean, what the fuck was he doing?
-
Azubuike24Hard to blame Mesoraco, ball appeared to hit something and just take a crazy hop. You don't just miss that badly...

Ironman92
Replay showed that ball tailing hard and landed several feet from where he took off for it to go.....then the skip hop on the throw....Azubuike24;1607747 wrote:Can anyone defend that effort by Phillips? I mean, what the fuck was he doing?

I can't blame Phillips for thatAzubuike24;1607747 wrote:Can anyone defend that effort by Phillips? I mean, what the fuck was he doing? -
Azubuike24It was a bloop pop up. He missed it by 5 feet. Inconceivable. Not sure why Bruce tries to three-hop the throw. Even with the bounces Russell Martin was out by 5 steps.
-
se-alumAnyway, for anyone in this area, south central ohio, Branch Rickey will be at the Dogwood Festival in Piketon on Saturday at 2:30p in the Odd Fellows lodge. He will be speaking about his history in baseball, sounds like it would be a pretty cool thing to hear.
-
SportsAndLadyI don't like Price
JJ Hoover is awful why is he pitching 1+ innings in a close game vs a tough opponent? -
Azubuike24
I agree with this too. Broxton? Tight game, Reds use Hoover for 40 pitches. Hmm..SportsAndLady;1607754 wrote:I don't like Price

And why not challenge the stolen base? Whose the dumbass in the replay booth that advised him "ehh maybe" when it was very clear he was safe.Azubuike24;1607755 wrote:I agree with this too. Broxton? Tight game, Reds use Hoover for 40 pitches. Hmm..
Fuck this loss -
Ironman92
It was a jam shot that clearly sliced.....BP's 1st step was turned to his left and the ball was just off the bat and traveling that direction......it landed 5 feet to the right of where he was headed after his first step.Azubuike24;1607751 wrote:It was a bloop pop up. Phillips drives me nuts a lot, but I've never seen him not try to make a game saving play....I blame him zero on that play......Bruce made a perfect 1 hop throw if it doesn't skip crazily off the likely dewed grass.
The game was lost when Marte threw out Bruce at home with no outs. -
Ironman92
100% that has to be replayed. He was safe but up 2-0 you have to keep piling on, 15 min later they are down 4-2SportsAndLady;1607758 wrote:And why not challenge the stolen base? Whose the dumbass in the replay booth that advised him "ehh maybe" when it was very clear he was safe.

LOL...I posted it on Facebook, and after several people started making plans to see him I had to let them know he wouldn't actually be there, and some were people that fancy themselves real baseball fans! Figured I'd see how long it took someone to catch it on here! They are having some sort of presentation about him though, which I'll probably check out since I'll be there anyway.Ironman92;1607763 wrote:He died about 50 years ago....

He grew up neighboring (the land) where I student taught at Eastern Pike at the old Stockdale school. His brother farmed land in Highland Co with the grandfather of my vest friend at school.se-alum;1607781 wrote:LOL...I posted it on Facebook, and after several people started making plans to see him I had to let them know he wouldn't actually be there, and some were people that fancy themselves real baseball fans! I agree. That hop was crazy. Almost every time that ball doesnt bounce nearly that high. It was a good throw from bruce in the way is that you tell players to get it there all the way in the air or on a nice long hop. Well..it was a nice long hop but man it just took off.Azubuike24;1607748 wrote:Hard to blame Mesoraco, ball appeared to hit something and just take a crazy hop. You don't just miss that badly...
