Draft Day--Even in Hollywood Browns Brass Gets it Wrong

  • Footwedge
GM Sonny Weaver gets his tit in the ringer dealing 3 number ones to move up 7 slots. He manages to piss off the owner, the new coach, the players and even his mom.

At the end of the day, he hoodwinks Seattle and supposedly saves the day. But did he?

The Browns again whiffed on landing their franchise, can't miss quarterback and ultimately gave up 3 number 2's to land a linebacker who was projected to go in in the middle of the first round.

There were some eerie coincidences though in the movie, and what the real Browns need to do in this year's draft. The movie Browns were 5-1 the previous year and then their journeyman, starting q'back went down to injury and they lost the rest of their games. Sound familiar?

Maybe Brian Hoyer will shit can Ray Farmer's office after a quarterback is drafted.

I went to see the movie and actually enjoyed it. My feeling is that Footwedge IS Johnny Maziel (portrayed as Bo Callahan in the movie), and that he's got his panties in a bunch because he sees his draft stock falling...
