Agreed. I assume they wanted the extra right handed bat with Johnson.....HitsRus;1605966 wrote:DFAing Morgan sounds like another brain fart, much like the release of Harang hoping that Carlos Carrasco was going to be the second coming of Danny Salazar. Guys like Johnson are a dime a dozen, but Morgan has some special talents that can't be foubnd on the waiver wire everyday. I'm not sure what the implications are exactly, but if we lose him because of this....GRRRRR.
Lots of wasted chances today. Hope Axford has got some struff tonite.
Career verse lefties:
Johnson .195
Bourn .253
Morgan .204 -
Classyposter58Al!

Glory Dayshere we go. I doubt we will ever put a team away this year.
-
Laley23Never thought defense would be an issue like this. 2 errors in consecutive innings proving costly.
-
Classyposter58Oh what a pitch! Damn

Glory Dayswhew. was waiting for Assdribble to boot that one.

HitsRuswe win!

Laley23Wow. Axford had a nasty curve tonight.
Good to finally beat those guys, but very frustrating to not put more runs across. They have had guys on base all season and havent been able to knock them in. Even so, .500 to start the year like this is a good start. Just like a golf tournament, you cant win it this early, but you can surely play your way out of it. -
Classyposter58Damn. What a terrible night to go to a game, I do not envy people going to 7 PM games in April

Agree. Morgan is a better player. Wa gotta wonder what exactly is going through their numbskulls at times.HitsRus;1605966 wrote:DFAing Morgan sounds like another brain fart, much like the release of Harang hoping that Carlos Carrasco was going to be the second coming of Danny Salazar. Tonight's game was exactly like last year...except tonight it fell our way.
Not sold on Axford and his wildness, but his stuff is miles ahead of CP. Would like to see a shuffle at the rear end of the pen.
7th...Alphabet, Carrasco or Axford. Shaw in the 8th and Allen closing. -
Laley23Tito said Morgan is a non-power, LH hitting, CFer. He couldnt afford to have 2 of those on the roster, as only 1 would ever play at the same time. He said it was tough because Morgan absolutely did not deserve to be sent down (he has options, amazingly). While it sucks, I do understand it. Versus a righty, tonights line-up is the line-up at the moment. No room for Morgan. Against a lefty, you get Raburn in there and Aviles at 3rd so Santana has to DH. Same problem, no room for Morgan.

Con_AlmaAn word on when yesterday's game will be made up???

HitsRuswell, at least Morgan has options left.
Hard to argue with a guy like Tito who obviously is a great manager, but no matter who is in lineup, when you look down the bench and you need someone, do you want Morgan or Johnson? Moreover, everybody needs a rest every once in a while, so you still could get Morgan in there a few times a week. I don't see how you don't value his speed, but apparently, Tito does not judging fronm the underutilization of Stubbs last year. Jeez, late in the game and down one, a I'd sure want Morgan to pinch run for any one of a number of guys. -

Agreed. I want the best 25 available to me every night...regardless of which way they bat. Late inning pinch runner, defensive substitute...etc. Like I said above, I would be shocked if that was the last we have seen of Morgan this year.HitsRus;1606053 wrote:well, at least Morgan has options left.

Plus, it doesn't seen Bourn is 100% yet, even with the little extra time. He seems to be injury prone. Might be good to split Morgan and Bourn for now.HitsRus;1606053 wrote:well, at least Morgan has options left.
