Reds vs Rays.......................game 3

    Cingrani vs Ramos

Off topic for this game but one of my worries is Homer pitching to Meso (or wishing he wasn't)....last year Homer pitched to Mesoraco 35 innings last year.....gave up 28 earned runs.

Fucking shit, was planning on getting up at 9am to start a game thread since I've been thread-blocked the last 3 games. 3 game winning streak once I start, book it. I was the best thread starter last year, let me work my magic.

    Outfield is hot.

This week: Bruce 2-18 and 0 for last 10, Ludwick 4-17 and 0 for his last 10, Hamilton 5-22 and 0 for his last 8.

Stop blaming others for your mistakes. You pretty much admitted the Reds suck because you can't make threads in time. Thanks a lot.

Thank God Cozy is snapping out but the base running on this team remains abysmal.
  • Terry_Tate
    That was just... wow.

Reds looking to set a record for TOOTBLANs this year.

    Fuck and now it's tied.

Frustrating would be an under statement.

That was a horrible interview with jake lacy, who I've never heard of.

I thought Votto was about to win someone a Tundra.

I like Votto after BH......Votto takes a ton of pitches and in that case the pitcher doesn't want to throw off speed as BH will steal.

    Meso!!

    Holy shit balls
  • Ironman92

Tony Cingrani : Ball, Strike looking, Ball, Foul, Foul, Cingrani grounded into double play shortstop to catcher to second to first to catcher, Mesoraco out at home
This seems like a bad base-running mess up! Can someone explain how it evolved, I missed it. Where was Cingrani when he got put out and was it before or after Meso? But since I started watching, I've seen more well hit balls than the whole season to date. Rays must be down to their lower echelon pitching!

Runners at second and third. Groundball by Cingrani to the shortstop. Shortstop went home and they got Meso at the plate. Cingrani started to go to second, and Hanigan came up and threw down to get Cingrani in the rundown. While in the rundown, Cozart tried to score and got thrown out at the plate.

Cingrani hit it to the SS, who came home with it. Meso turned around. Catcher came up the baseline and tagged him out. Then turned to check Cingrani and he basically didn't stop at first base. Catcher then threw to the 2nd baseman and Cingrani was in a pickle. Guy on third came home and before tagging Cingrani out they cmae home to get the out at home.

I think it was one of 2 things, both situations that Welch brought up.

    1) Cingrani didn't realize there was only 1 out when he was up.
    2) Cingrani was trying to get to second base thinking Meso was going to be in a longer rundown/pickle than what he ended up being in.

All in all, Cingrani fucked up.

Thanks. Marty just said they aren't counting it statistically as a GIDP, but it sounds like Cingrani had a combination of grounding into and running into a DP. Sounds like Meso may have had some fault too -- did he run back to within 5' of 3B or the 3rd baseman before he turned around? And did Cozart make it to 3rd on the throw home?

Cozart made it to third on the throw home. And Mes didn't have a chance to run back to within 5' of 3B. He went home, and the throw came in and he turned around...made it about 3-4 steps and got tagged out.
