se-alumWin, again.
-
wildcats20Meso has been recalled.
Hamilton 8
Phillips 4
Votto 3
Bruce 9
Ludwick 7
Frazier 5
Cozart 6
Pena 2
Cingrani 1 -
sherm03Billy gets a double. Bunted over by Phillips. And then a baserunning blunder by Billy gets him caught in a run down on a Votto ground ball.
Fuck! -
sherm03The worst thing you can hear when watching your favorite team play is "C.B. Bucknor calling the balls and strikes, today."
-
sherm03Cingrani just doesn't have it today.
Already thrown 30 pitches. Only 2 outs in the first. -

Pena needs to start against two righties per week.wildcats20;1602105 wrote:Meso has been recalled. -
RotinajWhy the fuck was he stealing?
-
mhs95_06Price wanted to either get him in scoring position or start the next inning with Billy leading off with a no strike count and no outs. Have the Reds this year scored in any inning in which Billy was the 1st hitter?

Thom was ticked as well but I have little problem with it. It nearly caught Molina off guard but he made the play. Worst case scenario is you lead off with the top of the order.Rotinaj;1602165 wrote:Why the fuck was he stealing? -
wildcats20That missed DP is going to hurt bad.

Didn't need to play it that aggressively with Molina runningwildcats20;1602171 wrote:That missed DP is going to hurt bad. -

I agree.Ironman92;1602173 wrote:Didn't need to play it that aggressively with Molina running
And I'm not so sure it slipped. Who knows? Thankfully it didn't really hurt. -

BP skittish and clearly took advantage of the newly officially acknowledged existence of the "neighborhood play", but still threw it away.wildcats20;1602171 wrote:That missed DP is going to hurt bad. -

Just using that Bell guy seems to hurt bad. What's the countdown before someone gets healthy and he goes back to obscurity where he seems to belong?wildcats20;1602171 wrote:That missed DP is going to hurt bad. -

Besides, Pena already has a SB this season in a similar situation!Ironman92;1602169 wrote:Thom was ticked as well but I have little problem with it. It nearly caught Molina off guard but he made the play. Worst case scenario is you lead off with the top of the order. -

Broxton is in the dugout supposedly.Heretic;1602176 wrote:Just using that Bell guy seems to hurt bad. What's the countdown before someone gets healthy and he goes back to obscurity where he seems to belong? -

Broxton maybe tomorrow. Of the candidates to go down, Christiani, Partch, and Bell, Bell is the one whose stock has plummeted so far today, and Christiani's has gone up. Partch still in the game.Heretic;1602176 wrote:Just using that Bell guy seems to hurt bad. What's the countdown before someone gets healthy and he goes back to obscurity where he seems to belong? -
mhs95_06After getting the tying run to 1B with none out, the Reds offense sputters. Soto's RBI was not worthy of being scored a SF -- 3 down with one out in the 9th, no one in their right mind would want to trade an out for a run.
-
mhs95_06Pena started the inning going down hill by trying to be a hero and hitting a lead taking grand slam with no out and a 1-2 count. Should have been just trying to not get out and trusting the succeeding hitters.

I don't agree that it was a blunder! Now if there had been none out, then yes. With one out you want to score that run there and not have to rely on a 2 out hit. What they ended up with after the play was a runner on 2nd which Billy was able to prolong the hotbox to allow him to get to 2nd. Runner on 2nd or runner on 3rd with two outs, you basically need a hit to score either way, unless the defense messes up.sherm03;1602122 wrote:Billy gets a double. Bunted over by Phillips. Many teams go on contact, unless to the pitcher, with one out. I never been a huge fan of that especially in the bigs, but that is how it is usually done. Friend of mine played in the minors and then coached in a collegiate league, and then I coach with him at a lower level and that is still how he did it becuase, well that is how they always had done it! Never was a fan of it as the thinking is maybe a bad throw, an off target throw, etc. Just never been a huge fan of it and I would put that mistake on the coaching staff instead of BH.mhs95_06;1602194 wrote:I don't agree that it was a blunder!
