Bengals fans.....?

Ironman92First off congrats and good luck this postseason.
I am wondering everyone's stance on Marvin Lewis IF the Chargers find a way to win...
From outside the fan base it looks eerily similar to Dusty Baker and he had to go. -
gerb131Easy. Syonara. But Bengals will win.

jordo212000Hoping for it to be a bit cold. Guessing that will help us. I think we should win... But if the Bengals look bad, Dalton and / or Lewis could be in danger.

coach_bob1Seeing how there may not be any other coaches out there willing to deal with Mike Brown and there aren't any other coaches Mike Brown trusts, I believe Marvin's job is safe. As far as Dalton goes, he just set the record for passing TDs in a season and passing yards in a season. He's not going anywhere.

Azubuike24Dalton isn't in danger. In fact, they set aside the 10M in cap room to extend him. The guy threw for over 4000 yards and 33 touchdowns. Statistically, he's the best QB in the history of the franchise. He's only in year 3 and has made the playoffs all 3 years. I'm not a Dalton lover and until he proves me something in big games, I'll still have some doubt. However, given all the other QB issues in the NFL (especially considering what some of these franchises are paying the likes of Romo, Flacco, Stafford, etc...), Dalton isn't close to being replaced.
The Bengals have their entire roster (outside of Gresham and Johnson) signed and are in amazing position with cap space. They have proven over the last 5-10 years they are one of the premiere teams in-terms of scouting, drafting and developing.
Hate it or love it, the current cast is who they are going forward with... -
said_aouitaEven if they lose against the Chargers Lewis will not be fired.

thavoiceIF they lose this one then they have to seriously look at moving into a new direction. 3rd year in a row in the playoffs, this time playing at home, against a warm weather team. The bengals were great in the regular season at home...lose this one and ML may be joining Dusty

TiernanDefense played great yesterday and I would think that will be the same killer attitude they take into the game on Sunday. I'm worried about Ginger being able to come out of the tunnel ready to play and not scaring the shit out of everybody the first quarter.

Except for the fact the owner only looks at the Bengals as a business. If the owner is content the coach wont be fired.thavoice;1559014 wrote:IF they lose this one then they have to seriously look at moving into a new direction. 3rd year in a row in the playoffs, this time playing at home, against a warm weather team. sportchamppsNo way do they fire Lewis. If the bengals didn't have the a couple injurys on d they would have had a bye in the first round. The bengals have been amazing though in the fact that when someone goes down the guys stepping in our all pretty damn good. They still need to find a safety in this years draft though.

wes_mantoothChargers won't win in the cold in January....unless cincy only plays 3rd stringers

Terry_Tate
Bad Andy Dalton plays like a 3rd stringer, so you're mostly right. If Dalton plays to his best the Bengals could win out. But as soon as Bad Andy shows up they are done.wes_mantooth;1559525 wrote:Chargers won't win in the cold in January....unless cincy only plays 3rd stringers -
TiernanGinger Snap is Bad Andy.

mhs95_06Dalton has to limit those throws that get away high over the middle. Those are the ones that turn into killer interceptions.
