AFC North....Top 10's, Top 5's, Top 3's
-
Ironman92I left this to just the AFC North but feel free to do other teams. I just figured most of us on here are fans of one of those teams so we know the most about them.
Basically, pick a team and list the players on that team that by position are top 10,5 or 3 in the NFL.
STEELERS
Top 3 ------
Top 5 ------ possibly Polamalu but prob not
Top 10-----Polamalu, probably AB, Ben, Suisam, maybe Timmons, Heath and Clark
Pouncey (out for season in game 1)....top 5
BENGALS
Top 3....maybe Burfict
Top5....Burfict, AJ Green, Geno Atkins
Top 10...Dunlap, Huber, probably one of their O'line guys, maybe Michael Johnson, maybe Reggie Nelson
BROWNS (watching them gave me the idea)
Top 3....probably Haden, maybe Thomas
Top 5....Thomas, probably Gordon,
Top 10....Taylor, maybe Skrine
RAVENS
Top 3.....
Top 5.....maybe Suggs
Top 10.....Ngata, Webb, their top O-line guy
I'm missing a few guys for sure....drawing a Ravens blank -
like_thatBy position? JT is easily a top 3 LT.
-
Ironman92
I guess I kinda threw the offensive lineman in one bunch but separated the d-line guys (DE and DT/NG)....lumped all LB's and safeties together as well.like_that;1545896 wrote:By position? JT is easily a top 3 LT.
Do your's for the Browns. -

He is still easily top 3.Ironman92;1545901 wrote:I guess I kinda threw the offensive lineman in one bunch but separated the d-line guys (DE and DT/NG)

That's fine I'm not disagreeing at all. You have watched him for years and all 12 games this year. I have paid pretty good attention for about 5 games this year. Though I did think MJ was getting consistent pressure and had a very good game against him.like_that;1545902 wrote:He is still easily top 3. -
wes_mantoothI would say aj green is def top 3. I would only take Megatron ahead of him
-
Ironman92
Pls play.wes_mantooth;1545905 wrote:I would say aj green is def top 3. I would only take Megatron ahead of him -
wes_mantoothI would say the browns have two top 5s....Haden and Thomas
But they also have the worst overall player in the nfl....so that's impressive
Also, I would give Phil Taylor a top ten for sure -
Ironman92
How can you not have Gordon top 10 but AJ 2nd?wes_mantooth;1545908 wrote:I would say the browns have two top 5s....Haden and Thomas

Your worst players was part of my inspiration for this as well. I feel like I watch my team and see no studs or "freaks"....but watch the Bengals and they have 3 studs and 3 freaks.....and even watching the Browns.....Thomas and Haden are elite, Gordon is a freak, Taylor is very very good...and after watching fuckin Ike I yearn for Skrine lol -
wes_mantooth
Yeah...I should have listed Gordon. I will say he is a top 5 talent, but i still want a bigger sample size.Ironman92;1545914 wrote:How can you not have Gordon top 10 but AJ 2nd?

I hated skrine last year, but he must have worked his ass off because he is having a nice year. Our most overrated is ward.... -

Same. Not enough list him with an elite group, even if his stats show he is right behind CJ playing one less game. I think Gordon has the potential to be an elite WR in the NFL though and the Browns better keep him. I mean if he can get these stats with our recycled group of QBs (especially fucking weeden) throwing to him, imagine what he would do with an average to slightly above average QB (perhaps throw in a real running game in there).wes_mantooth;1545916 wrote:Yeah...I should have listed Gordon. Maybe not elite but leading all receivers with 125 yards a game....with the guys throwing to him?like_that;1545917 wrote:Same. I consider elite top 3 or 4.....he's close to a top 10 receiver season in only 10 games.
You two say he's not worthy yet....I'll go with it, but he's definitely one of those freaks every QB would love to have. -
wes_mantooth
Yeah...I won't argue that at all.Ironman92;1545922 wrote:Maybe not elite but leading all receivers with 125 yards a game....with the guys throwing to him?

Ironman92How about a couple Bengals fans chime in....a couple other Steelers guys as well. COA? BR1986.....oops

Terry_TateBengals off the top of my head:
Top 3: Green, Atkins
Top 5: Burfict
Top 10: Huber, maybe Hall, Maybe Dunlap -
Laley23Colts:
Top 3 - T-Rich, Vinatieri, Mathis (depends on how specific you are on position)
Top 5 - Luck (bias, maybe. But that offense is awful...yet he keeps winning)
Top 10 - Freeman???, McAfee, Wayne (When healthy. This team looks lost on offense since his injury)
Seriously, its amazing. They have a lot of solid guys...but Mathis and Luck are LITERALLY the only game changers. The lack of overall talent at the top is staggering for a team who was 11-5 and now 8-4. Shows how good Luck is imo. He was on pace for a tremendous season when his #1 WR went down. -
Laley23Browns:
Top 3 - Haden, Thomas
Top 5 - Gordon (Ive seen enough, name 5 better this year), Cameron (might be T3...cant think of a for sure 3rd after Graham and Gronk)
Top 10 - Ward, Taylor, Mack,
Id say all these "Top 10" guys are questionable...some in, some out, but argument can be made -

T-Rich? lol wut? It's top 3 in the NFL, not top 3 on your own team.Laley23;1546172 wrote:Colts:

And Luck is not top 5, come on. -

Its a joke.SportsAndLady;1546231 wrote:T-Rich? lol wut? It's top 3 in the NFL, not top 3 on your own team.

And agree to disagree on Luck. When he had Reggie Wayne, he was on pace to go for 3,600 Yds, 23 TDs, 7 Int, 92.8 QB Rtg, 62% Comp and his rushing was better.
I concede Peyton, Brady (though he was awful without Gronk), Brees and Rodgers. After that, Im not sure you can convince me anyone is better than Luck. -
slcoachFor the Bengals:
Top 3 - AJ Green and Geno Adkins
Top 5 - I don't really see anyone here...You could make a case if you are talking more ILB for Burfict, but when you throw in OLB and pass rushers, I don't think so.
Top 10- A healthy Leon Hall for sure. I could probably go Dunlap or Johnson here. I don't see Whitworth quite top 10.
I think AJ is only behind Calvin. He is getting a ton of attention and has a below average QB throwing to him. Dez is great, but AJ is better. Geno, IMO, is number 1 at tackle. Now whether he comes back healthy or not, I can't say. But I think he is the best, in combo, (pass rusher and run stopper) since Sapp. -

I'll take Russell Wilson and tony romo over luck. Luck hasn't had a year I thought he would have.Laley23;1546293 wrote:Its a joke.

Certainly not out of the question, I just prefer Luck to those guys. Id love to see what he would do with the offense/weapons Dallas runs/has or the team Seattle has.SportsAndLady;1546357 wrote:I'll take Russell Wilson and tony romo over luck. Luck hasn't had a year I thought he would have. -
Azubuike24I'd put Reggie Nelson and Leon Hall in the top 10 category. Johnson and Dunlap are both very good, but there are way too many DE's to say top 10.
I'd put A.J. Green in the top 5, but I think it's a huge debate whether there are 4 better. Argument both ways.
I'd put Geno Atkins top 3, might be the best DT in the NFL. Burfict is right there with the best LB's, but I'd say top 10 at this point until he proves it more than 2 years.
Others to consider for top 10 from the Bengals would be Kevin Huber and Andrew Whitworth.
From other teams, it's hard to argue with Josh Gordon and Phil Taylor being in the mix from the Browns. Haden is clearly in there.
For Baltimore, Elvis Dumervil, Terrell Suggs and Haloti Ngata have arguments. LaDarius Webb, Ray Rice and Torrey smith are probably right outside the top 10, same with Dennis Pitta when healthy. -
IliketurtlesCowboys
Top 3- Dez
Top 5- Romo, Witten, Ware
Top 10- Maybe Carr and Frederick
Browns
Top 3- Thomas, Haden
Top 5- Cameron, Gordon
Top 10- Taylor
Bengals
Top 3- AJ Green, Atkins
Top 5- Burfict
Top 10- Dunlap, Huber, Nelson
And since there has been a mini debate here are some Top 5's for positions
QB- Manning, Brees, Rodgers, Brady, Romo
RB- AP, Charles, McCoy, Lynch, Forte
WR- Johnson, Dez, Green, D Thomas, Gordon
TE- Graham, Gronk, Davis, Cameron, Witten -
