Who is the best wide reciever in the NFL

  • september63
This year I'd take Johnson. Fitz has had a small letdown from last year. The only thing I would disagree with about this topic. Ochocinco doesnt even belong in this poll. He isnt a top 8 WR in the NFL.

^ I wouldn't say he doesn't belong in the top 8 but I agree he isn't the best.

I give the nod to Larry Fitzgerald

Ochocinco ranked 19th in recieving yards, tied for 10th in TD's and 11th in receptions. Top 8? I dont think so.

Can't believe I was the first one to vote for Marshall.

This is a very hard one between Fitz and AJ. I like Fitz's ability to beat you all over the field (I think he's a bit better than Johnson at doing so). But I like AJ's ability to burn you deep. I think I would go with whoever is the better blocker. I don't really pay much attention to that skill set of either. Anybody have an idea of who is better?

    Andre Johnson

    Where's the "other" option?

I voted for Johnson. The man is a beast.

    My top 5:

    1. Andre Johnson
    2. Larry Fitgerald
    3. Brandon Marshall
    4. Vincent Jackson
    5. Reggie Wayne

I can't believe no one has agreed with me about Steve Smith. (Carolina)
  • Nate
Steve Smith is good but not great. I'd like to see him somewhere besides Carolina and see what numbers he puts up. Delhomme has been ok until this past season but let me see him with an above average QB and I'll make an assessment on how great he is. I think with a better QB his numbers would be around Vincent Jackson or Brandon Marshall like.

This list is bogus without having Lebron James as an option.

Make a "Who is the best TE in the NFL thread" then he would be an option. Not sure you see too many 6'9 270 WR's lol.

Andre Johnson currently is the best wide receiver in the league.
  • Citybuck
    Chad Ochocinco

    Andre Johnson barely over Fitzgerald.

    Reasoning....

    1. neither have a stellar running game so that is a wash...
    2. Both have quarterbacks that are better than average
    3. Complementary receivers to stop the double team...Breaston and Boldin are better than Kevin Walters and Jacoby Jones.. Especially after the loss of Owen Daniels.

You can double team Johnson with more effectiveness than Fitzgerald...AJ still leads the league with two consecutive 1500 yard seasons...he wins.

In addition....he plays the game the right way....his talent says more than his mouth.

Agreed. His mouth is what surprises me seeing as he is from 'The U'.

just an fyi. He was mentored by Reggie Wayne, and they were very close friends while at Da U. Johnson has been quoted when he was a frosh as saying he wanted his career to end up like Reggies and he love the way Reggie played the game. I dont think its a surprise that both of them are super-stars who just go about their business without talking.
