Week 2: Pittsburgh Steelers @ Cincinnati Bengals

You may want to say I stated something that was "obvious" but most Steeler fans I know assumed this was a "nothing to see here/bounce back" season where they'd just keep chugging along.

Can't run the ball, protect your QB and aren't nearly as efficient getting turnovers. Not rocket science but Steeler "fans" are never going to be confused with MENSA members.

This is another one of those things where part of the reason Pittsburgh and Cleveland hate each other so much is due to being more similar than either side wants to admit, isn't it?

Nah bro, it's only Pittsburgh fans.

Wait, we should be putting quotation marks around "fans" because we're nowhere near the level of their great fans who are mostly ignoring their city's one winning team because they don't like the ownership.

We can only hope and pray that one day, we'll be that good at fan stuff.

Just thinking about next week. 0-3 is looming.

Cincy could have won by a larger margin if Dalton was better. He made several shitty throws. Cutler might go off.

Not a bad time last night. Didnt get razzed too bad. Perfect evening, other than the game of course.

Bengals had no respect for the steelers receiving corp as they played press coverage most of the night, and for good reason. The steelers have their core guys who are making some good bank, and with the lower draft picks just do not have the depth to be able to be solid across the board. Then add in a few injuries and then you see a 4-6 win season like they will have this year. They cannot run it, they cannot protect the QB, and WR do not get much separation, and couple that with a defense that doesnt sack or create turnovers and you have a sad season.

Have to admit...the women at bengals games are far superior than the ones in pittsburgh for the steeler games!

btw like_that...You questioned that my friends and I have steeler season tix..could not respond as my keyboard went out yesterday. 5 of us have 4 tickets...section 513, row JJ, seats 5-8. 3rd row from the top. Have had them for 6-7 years now. Make the trip a few times and ebay them others.

Well the run was pretty good for the steelers. Like I said last night..if every 20 yeart the steelers go to 4 SB and win 2 then I will be happy. They are def on the downward slope and the franchise has shown they can rebuild so hopefully that happens.

Oh yeah, give one winning season in 20+ years, and those pirates fans have always been great!

Probably gonna be a long season. Haley needs to go. Never thought I would long for the days of Bruce Arians. The running game is pathetic. Gonna have years like this from time to time. It still sucks though.
  • Automatik
I think with some changes, they will be ok moving forward.

I'm almost sure Haley will get canned after the season. Get everyone back from injury and have a solid draft.

Dropping this off in here, it's the most recent steelers thread I found.

Wanted to kill him a few years ago from his BS call in the steelers/Colts playoff game. Polamalu INT a pass, rolled over on the ground with the ball, gets up and then fumbles and he overturned it and gave the Colts new life.

NFL Came out that next week saying that he was wrong.

Did my best and put all my vmoney on the browns to win I think. Not that there is much left of it anyways....

Well someone posted about the ref lineups, and I asked if he was still in the league.

I remember a few months ago ironman went on one of his QQ rants, about how we drove off the steelers fans and he can no longer discuss the steelers on this board. Well, last time I checked, I have seen the following steelers "fans," post on this forum:

    -gopens
    -heretic
    -auto
    -ironman
    -thavoice
    -lj
    -iwp
-sid the kid (now known as end of line)
    -ewok
    -gblock

I am sure I am missing a few, but the only steelers fans on the top of my head that don't post anymore are capone and non (OH NO! /sarcasm).

Steelers are 1-4 and this was the last active steelers thread... Coincidence???

Maybe I'm wrong.....but I was doing threads last year when Ben was playing well early on and the Steelers looked to be pretty good (not great)....but the threads were not going well at all. I even searched for other Steelers forums (they sucked bad) to post on.

    Last season....week 3
Steelers vs Raiders it was mostly me and a couple of Bengals posters

Week 7 vs Redskins, mostly me again

    Week 8 vs Giants....good thread

Vs Browns, Ravens and Bengals were good

A few of the weeks I couldn't even find threads

While they were far from great last year.....they were in the hunt most of the season and the majority of the non-division threads were not well occupied at all with more than 2 Steelers fans.

    Nice front runner fail though.

I still comment regularly, but the Pittsburgh talk has tailed off in the past year or so. Team All-PWN has won!!!!!!!!

I was incognito for 6 weeks last year about this time and had not access to web so I couldnt comment on anything, but yeah the steelers discussion has been pretty thin since late last year. Just the way it is I guess....has to be some steeler boards and I think I was on some years ago but forget what they were.

I still comment on the bengal/browns threads. Sometimes I act like an ass on there but for the most part I try to talk somewhat intelligently and civilly with their fans as I tend to keep up on both teams more than the rest of the league.

The issues I usually have with message boards that are fully associated with a certain team, like the steelers ones and the browns OBR or whatever it was called, is that you get too many rah rah fans who are just plain stupid and annoying and cannot see through their rose colored glasses, and then trollers from other teams just being complete assholes. YOu know the ones...typically they reside on these kind of message boards in the college forums.

I prefer a board like this where you have legit fans from other teams and you can discuss things more rationally. STill some fucking idiots but for the most part things can stay civil

I agree, that's why I just lurk over there. It's good for info, but not worth posting to me.

I guess I might as well get back in a football mindset now that Ohio Chatter's Most Successful Baseball Team has been eliminated. And in the true spirit of being bitter and angry, I'm going to cheer for Sam Bradford and any other St. Louis player that anyone anywhere thinks is worth a damn to get utterly pulverized.

    GO TEAM!
