Peyton Manning

Robert Horry is one of the greatest basketball players to ever walk on this earth. Better than Lebron.

I'm pretty sure Rick from Pawn Stars is the greatest ever. I mean he probably has the most championship rings out of everyone.

and a couple of gold pants pins from the OSU/UM game...

So, the important thing to be gleaned from this thread is that Joe Flacco is probably better than Peyton because they both have one ring, but Super Joe has better Super Bowl stats. Amirite?

I guess Dan Marino must have really sucked huh?
Reps. Dumbest argument in team sports, and especially in football where you play at least 22 guys in a game.

Yeah. Especially when you break down all the stuff that one team's quarterback has no control over. Using the championship argument, you'd be slightly diminishing Tom Brady's QB legacy...because Eli Manning hit David Tyree with that miracle pass/catch.

    No logic to it.

Taking his absurd logic to an even more absurd level, Tim Tebow won more playoff games than Y.A. Tittle, Roman Gabriel, Bert Jones, Doug Flutie, and Jim Hart combined. Canton will be calling.

Manning isnt even the best QB in the league right now

Well there can only be one little guy. Just because you don't think he is, he's certainty on the short list and has 4 MVP.... Just because you dont think he's currently THE best QB doesn't mean you should minimize him. lolfail

Honestly I shouldn't be that surprised, pick6 is the OC's dumbass extrodinaire.

Not to mention Peyton was 2nd in MVP voting to a RB. Hmmm, so Peyton was voted the 2nd best player in the NFL regardless of position? Obviously nobody thinks he is the best QB in the league. LOLFAIL.

Manning has been alot like Favre in a way career wise in that both had tremendous longevity and accumulated huge stats, but made just too many bad throws at bad times in the playoffs.

Getting that 2nd title would really help Peyton's legacy because as of now Tom Brady is probably going to be remembered as the greatest QB of this generation.

It's not all about ring count, but that 2nd one would be huge, particularly when your younger brother has 2 and is known for being clutch and not throwing those big interceptions in the playoffs like Peyton has at times.

I am a Colts fan and an unapologetic Manning supporter but you are right...as of right now Brady is the quarterback of the generation. But if he never wins another and Manning can pick up at least 1 in his last couple of years...it will be hard to say that Manning isn't the greatest to ever play quarterback. But he needs another title.

Peyton is the smartest quarterback to play IMO... Bernie was a close second. But Peyton is a lot more than just brains.

The other thing ridiculous about the Manning playoff argument is how many byes he had. Give him an extra win (WC GAME) in those years and his record is a lot better. I cringe when I hear people say he has a losing playoff record. The only way to have a significant winning record would be to make the Super Bowl every year when you have that many byes. Losing the in AFC Title Game would equate to 1-1 in the playoffs...

I don't think Tom Brady has won a Super Bowl since Spygate? Just saying.

Tom Brady also had some dominant defenses.
