Week 1: BENGALS @ Bears

  • osu45804
With high expectations coming into this season, going into Chicago & coming out with a win would be a good start to the season.

Bears are favored by 3, But I'll say Bengals win 23-16

Someone move this to the regular forum... I clicked on the wrong part of Pro Sports

    Ill move it.

Bears favored by 3 is a joke. While the home field is usually good for 1-3 in the NFL, that's basically saying they feel the Bears are as good or better overall.

It's week 1 and both the Bengals and Bears should be good. In a match up like this I would say Bears -3 sounds right. That means Vegas thinks they are even teams, which sounds right for week 1.

At best, Bears go 9-7. I'll say 7-9. I see your logic too. I'm just probably gonna bet at least $25 on Cincy. Marvin Lewis is 2-0 vs the Bears and very good vs the NFC in general.

I remember the last time was the Cedric Benson revenge game and the Bengals pounded them. I think before that, Kyle Orton threw like 5 INT's when Cincy won in Soldier Field.

Bears, at home, season opener...-3 is a good line.
  • Laley23
People seem to forget the Bears were awesome, record wise, when Cutler played/was healthy.

This would be a pretty good win for the Bengals.

How much is the better head coach worth?

    Trestman is loved in Chi-town.

I'm no Marvin Lewis nuthugger, but the guy hasn't ever coached an NFL game as the main man. Hard to say he's better...

He hasn't been in the NFL for what, at least 6 or 7 years now?

All true but how it sounds the Bears have bought in on what the new coach is dealing. I just think he'll turn the Bears into a playoff team in his 1st year as the HC.
Bengals probably have the better O/D cord's which is why they have improved so much the past few years but I'd not be surprised if the Bears shock some teams early this season.

    Kinda related....

Interesting story on why Joe Banner chose Rob Chud over Marc Trestman as Browns HC.

I think the bears are serious underrated. When Cutler is healthy their a really good team. With that said I think the Bengals can pull this out because Chicagos weakness is their oline. Bengals dline should make some plays in this one. I say 24-21 bengals on a late field goal for the win.

Bengals got this in the bag. Only question is if AJ Green will break the season season record for yds/receptions in wk 1 or wk 2.

    Probably 2.

I think this will be a really close game and Cutler will get the shit beat out of him. In the end I think the Bengals defense is the difference and Bengals win 17-14 in a slugfest. Brandon Marshall might go 11 catches for 160 yards though.

With Leon Hall, Adam Jones and Dre Kirpatrick? Not likely. the Bengals have 3 #1 Shut Down CBs. I'll be surprised if he has 2 catches for 20 yds.

    Da Bears!

Wait, is Cincinnati the Detroit Tigers of football?

Us fans of other teams are all doomed.

Bears D-line will force (and recover) at least one fumble from Dalton and Chi-town covers the spread.

Nobody in any sport or just life in general can be compared to the Detroit Tigers. I mean, have you seen their lineup? Wow.
  • Laley23
The Detroit Tigers would win the Super Bowl if they were allowed.

Lets not get silly and compare any NFL team to them...
  • Azubuike24
Lets also not even come close to considering Adam Jones a shutdown CB. He's decent. Borderline starter. Dre Kirkpatrick? Well, he's got a lot to work on. Leon Hall is one of the top 5 CB's in the NFL though...

    SMH. Falling into the trap.

Also, can't tell if serious about Leon Hall...
  • sportchampps
Leon Hall is good but not type 5 maybe top 10-15 though.
  • sportchampps
    Top 5 are
    Patrick Peterson
    Sherman
    Haden
    Flowers
    Revis

I'd say champ baily is to old now.
