Week 17: Cincinnati Bengals ( 10 - 5 ) @ New York Jets ( 8 - 7 )

These Pittsburgh conspiracy theorists are hilarious. I really hope you guys just make these posts in jest and to get Pittsburgh fans riled up.

If you are serious......then all I can say is wow.

You're the one crying about how the big, mean "closet Steeler" commish "made" teams like yours play starters tonight. Ewok (as well as I...and ts1227, who's not a Steeler fan) are just laughing at your complaining.

That was just a horrible rebuttal by you. HORRIBLE! If Ewok needs your shoulder, it's probably to wipe laughter tears out of his eyes after your "he screwed others because of Steeler fanboy status" line.

Jets end the season ranked #1 in the following:

    Rushing offense
    Scoring defense
    Overall defense

I look forward to seeing what Sanchez can do next season. If they develop a decent passing game this team can be great.

Well this doesn't make me feel good going into the playoffs.

The Jets will not have a repeat performance in Cinci though.

I completely agree. Should be a great game.

Is there a better looking man than Nick Mangold? I say no.

Did you have to go rub one out after that interview?

    I hate you guys.

This was a complete waste of time if you weren't a Jets' fan. Seriously, why did the Bengals even show up? At first, I was thinking they have something to play for, but I don't think so. Even if it came down to the 3rd or 4th seed, I don't see New England making the AFC title game without Welker, so the Bengals (if they advance), will host the game either way (if they beat NYJ and Indy) and the Chargers lose.

I'd actually rather play Indianapolis in RD2 instead of San Diego, so it sets up well for Cincinnati IMO. Tough task next week against the Jets though.

Hate is merely Love with three letters changed. Therefore, you really love us...hopefully in a platonic way.

Yeah, I'm incredibly frustrated. Although, 2 Lombardi trophies in 4 years helps ease my pain even though they were due to Steeler-loving commissioners, Black & Gold-striped refs, the networks having a hard-on for Pittsburgh. Hell, that Pittsburgh love spread all the way over into hockey. Gary Bettman must have worked at Primanti Bros. in his teens or something. You know, I heard that Bettman used to date Mario Lemieux's cousin's sister-in-law. Lord Stanley liked Yuengling. WTF is Bud Selig's problem?!?!? Didn't he get the memo????

Like heretic said, you're the one pissing and moaning. It's pretty clear that you don't like being called on it.

I wouldn't worry about who the Bengals play in the 2nd round if I were a Bengal fan.

sorry i missed out on the banter, so this post will look odd for its placement, nevertheless

i wish i had the time to show heretic and ewok how to read without inferring intent, but I just don't have the luxury.

I made mention of the fact that the commissioner wanted teams to be playing their starters in the final weeks to placate fans, and made mention of his being a steeler fan in his youth, and then you rant about conspiracy theories and try to suggest I am in my basement wearing an aluminum foil helmet with glenn beck.

bottom line is you are so sensitive right now because of the anti-steeler sentiment on this site that any mention touches a nerve and you want to go on the offensive. Looking for fights will only lead to a bitter existence, trust me I am a bengal fan. The great thing is, this time it is the Steeler fan base who is angry and sensitive and not the Bengals, or for that matter the Browns (which may be as a result of apathy, unsure?)

There is always anti-Steeler sentiment on this site just like there was on the other site. That doesn't bother me. If it did.....I wouldn't bother being a member of this site. There are a lot of anti-Steeler remarks that I simply read and then don't even both responding to. Your closet Steeler commish comment just reeked of conspiracy theory. I wasn't the only one who noticed. Am I angry and sensitive? No moreso than usual. No need to be. The season was a disappointment for me but you can't win the Super Bowl ever year. Seasons like this happen. Fortunately for heretic, myself and others on here.....years like this are few and far between. Bitterness probably builds up for some of the folks who root for a team who is rarely a contender. For us....not so much.

Steeler fans are an obnoxious bunch. It's just the way it is. Most of them still don't understand that the refs gift wrapped the Seattle super bowl to them. Bettis grew up in Deroit...the game was played in Pontiac....the official that made 2 horrendous calls lived in the Pittsburgh area.

They, at the very least, should admit that Seattle got fuckin hosed....and then move on. But you'll never see it with the rose colored glasses blinding them.

    Hillarious!!

And some of you Brownies aren't obnoxious? Please. That's some bullshit. John Madden made a fuss about a few calls but when you look at those calls after the game....most of them were correct. But just go ahead and let fat ass Favre lover spoon feed ya' though. It's no different then the Miami(FL) fans and anti-OSU fans who still ramble on about the 2003 Fiesta Bowl and the PI call at the end of the game when Dan Fouts went on about it. Browns fans bitch more about Super Bowl XL than Seahawk fans. More conspiracy theory garbage from Steeler haters just like the stuff about the 2003 Fiesta Bowl. Get over it and move on.

No shit...I just got done looking at that other thread where about three flatscanning Browns fans have combined for about 20 posts arguing the old BBmind "who you should root for by geographical lines" point of view. I'm feeling my temples pulsating right now from just trying to digest all the stupidity I took in while reading those posts.
