  He was already going to 2nd on the throw, gets 3rd when it's out of play. You only get 1 extra base if he reaches 1st on the throw (like would be the case on a throwing error on a batted ball).

  That doesn't matter. First base was an already achieved base on a prior play. He's "on his way to 2nd" and then gets 3rd on the OOP call. Kinda hard to explain, but it's different than if on that single play first base was yet to be reached.

  BP's smarts is a big factor in the DP that takes the Brewers out of a big scoring opportunity in the 8th. Everyone on both teams played it well. Maybe they don't get a double play if Segura doesn't back away from BP, and then tries to jostle BP off balance on the tag. Backing away assured Segura would be in a hot box after the out at first, unless Aoki broke from 3rd, in which case they would have thrown him out. Could have potentially been a triple play if the Brewers ran the bases too aggressively.

  So, if there is one out and runner on 2nd and a line drive is hit into the LCF gap, the runner thinks it is a hit and runs to home and one into the dugout, but the LF makes a sliding catch and fires the ball to 2nd for the inning ending double play, but the ball gets away, and rolls toward the 1st base dugout and falls in and down the steps. The runner is allowed to score because he gets two bases, correct?
  
  Now can the runner just stay on the bench? Or does he have to go re-trace his steps from home to 3rd, to 2nd to break the force, then run back to 3rd, then home for the run to be counted. Or does it automatically count if he stays on the bench? Or does it count only if the team in the field, once the next ball is put into play, does not appeal that the runner did not tag up?

  Haha. It would be the same situation. You get 2 bases on the throw that goes out of play. Good question though. I'd imagine he has to go back and then safely touch 3rd and home. However, I'm not sure if it matters if he safely touches 2nd before the ball is ruled out of play. In this case, you're assumed the next base on the play, and 1 more base on the overthrow. In BP's play, he was safely reached 1st before the ball went out, so he the next base is 2nd and OOP would be 3rd. Your scenario, next base would technically be 2nd again, because he hadn't yet reached it.
  
  Someone else can chime in if they really want, but that's how I'd apply the rule...

  Only if the Reds win one of the first two! Even more so, if the Reds somehow could win both of the first two.
