Is this the end of the Tebow era in the NFL?

In last night's scrimmage against the Lions, Tebow saw exactly ZERO action on the field. He simply stood on the sideline and took "mental reps" as he put it. Is this the end to the long and uninteresting experiment of Tebow in the NFL.

    God lets hope so.

...but my worse fear is ESPN will hire him as a commentator as soon as he gets cut.

BB had to know Tebow wasn't going to show a ton of improvement at QB. I think the Pats give him a chance this year to do something in another roll and if it doesn't work out they cut him after the season.

The season or the preseason? I read in the Yahoo column about this that Belichek tends to only keep two QBs and if he's not playing at all in the preseason, he won't be moving ahead of Mallett. And if he's not playing in games in other roles, I don't know if they'd keep him around eating up a roster spot indefinitely while looking for another position for him to play.

I'm saying that there was no chance BB was going to cut Mallet and just put Tebow as the #2 QB since like you said they only keep 2. I think BB may have something else in mind for him. What that is,I have no idea. I certainly wouldn't be surprised if he got cut right after pre season though.

I was sick of Tebow because of all the pub he got in college. Then when I started to actually know who the guy was I started to root for him. Thing is..he is not a very good passer, and in the NFL if you don't have that threat then you are screwed. I thought that they should have used him in the backfield with Tebow at the same time. He could be used as a RB, or a blocker, or pitched to him and a halfback pass. When TT came in and was the QB the defense knows it is a run. Put him back there with Brady and the defense would have to also think of the HB pass option out of the gun.

Well, other than that season where he was starting a bunch of games for Denver and all. I mean, dude's a goofy, over-religous'd guy who sucks at the NFL, but to say he never had a career when he did spend one season starting for a playoff team just looks stupid.

    Stick to running.

I thought that the Pats brought him in to play HB or TE.
He is a winner, but not a NFL QB.

So did I. I thought, as I said above, that I thought we would see him and brady in the backfield together as it could open up a few different things. I doubt they would hold it all back for the season. Too bad a good guy like Tebow just didn't have enough skills to make it big time in the NFL>
