Twins @ Tribe- Series Thread

When an offense is doing nothing...it can make a manager look bad no matter what he does. For example, if Kipnis gets the bunt down...Francona doesn't have to try the steal.

Or...if Bourn and Swish get on and then the next 3 guys strikeout...we are bitching about how he never started the runners to get anything going.

Put it this way, I am a huge advocate of the SB. But, not so much 3rd base when trailing. I thought it was a dumb move and it really looked like another walk to Santana was on its way, imo.

Listening to the radio broadcast, they said in 25 starts, Ubaldo has given up 3 runs or less in 20 of them. Which is sad that when he gives up three runs or less, they lose more than they win.

    Bingo....already in scoring position.
Gotta lay the fault on Kipnis.....he was in a snooze all day at the plate. We are not talking Lonnie Chisenhall here....Kipnis should be able to get the ball down. Brantley also a snoozer today.

If you think about it...this is nothing new for the offense the past week or so...the difference is that the pitching wasn't quite as good.
  • Laley23
Oh well. This is why I never expect a sweep. Just sets up for dissapointment, and realistically, they just dont come around often.

Take the next 2, salvage the series win and you are guaranteed to pick up games on Oakland/Baltimore, NYY/Tampa and Boston has the Dodgers...so a chance there as well.

Each are about 0-20 last few games.

John Adams celebrates 40 years of beating the rally drum....He will swing the drum in pregame...and try to hit a pitch.

Congrats to John..the games would not be the same without you!...story below.

Looks like it will be a solid win for the Tribe. Finally got the offense going to couple yet another awesome start by a pitcher. 7.1 for McCalister with 2ER. Was 7.0 and 1ER, but a leadoff HR in the 8th made his line slightly worse.

I was about to type that its time for Chisenhall to be on the bench for the stretch run for Aviles/Raburn (and I still think that), and he promptly doubles down the LF line lol.

Best offensive production in about a month.

Scrabble finishes it off for win number 70.

    Home:
    Minny -1
    Baltimore - 3
    Royals - 3
    NYM - 3
    Houston - 4
    White Sox - 2

    Road:
    Minny - 4
    Detroit - 3
    Atlanta - 3
    White Sox - 4
    Royals - 3

So, thats 16 at home and 17 on the road. 33 total. Can the Indians go 20 and 13? We all said 90 wins gets us in the playoffs. If they can survive the tough 9 game stretch...even at 4-5, and as much as it will suck while its happening, 3-6, I think we get have a chance. 16-8 is very attainable with the schedule after that (if we go 4-5). 17-7 is also very possible, just not as much wiggle room.

If we get to 90 wins and dont make the playoffs, well, tip your cap to those who make it. 90-72 is a heck of a year for this team. That is what I am looking for at the moment.

Saw the best wave I'd ever seen at last nights game.

There is no reason Swisher shouldn't have thrown home on that bunt play. He needs to just make the play that is in front of him and not try to make some spin move to throw a guy out at first(not that he could have, Kipnis couldn't get there in time playing double play depth).
  • Laley23
Well, Cody Allen works out of it.

Probably the only reliever on the team who can get out of that jam without luck. Only guy with the stuff to get outs without runners advancing on 3 straight batters. Pop-up and 2 swinging Ks.
  • TBone14
Can anybody step up and get a big knock????
  • HitsRus
Another houdini act by Allen. We should be losing big. One base at a time on offense....great.
  • Laley23
Jesus Kipnis. Indians have to have the worst fielding infield in baseball. At least the right side.
  • Glory Days
4 errors and 11 runners left of base.
