Fox Sports 1

Terry_TateAnyone else giving this network a shot? I haven't been able to watch much but have watched Fox Sports Live twice. They definitely have some things to work on but I'll give it a shot. The panel is really weak IMO and needs to be less emphasized, but Jay and Dan seem pretty funny, and they actually just gave the Reds some airtime which is nice.
-
sportchamppsActually from what I've watched I've enjoyed. It's been a great first week.
-
Glory DaysCouldn't even tell you what channel it is in the line up.
-
royal_kI've seen a couple nights of it. Liked what I've seen so far.
Hope this helps. -
Midstate01I haven't watched sc since fs1 came on. But the two dudes..I swear im watching snl. They try so hard but aren't really funny at all.

mucalum49I like it so far. I have watched a little bit of Crowd Goes Wild too when I get home. It's their answer to Around the Horn and PTI with Regis and some other folks as the panel. Honestly not the best show but has some good eye candy. I found it funny that they had a segment right around 5:30 called "Pardon the Contradiction".
The daily football show is solid. And Fox Sports Live is pretty good so far but I think McNabb needs to go. He just doesn't have a likeable personality. Even if he is playing devil's advocate to Roddick and Payton he isn't even good at articulating his opposing opinion. -
GoChiefsThey botched big time during the truck race last night. The final restart with just a few laps to go, probably the 2nd most important part of the race, and they don't get back from commercial into to show it.

thavoiceI think they took over the speedchannel, at least in our lineup. Seemed like most of the weekend was racing stuff whenever I tuned in. To be honest, I don't really need another sports channel. All I really care about anymore is the scores of games. Pretty much all the teams I want to watch have their games already televised, and I certainly don't need any more talking head experts hashing and rehashing the same ole stuff. There really aren't that many ways to analyze a game, pre or post, and find myself as I get older watching less and less of that stuff. I thought the scroll was waaaay too slow.

Fly4FunYa, I also caught the air time tey gave to the Reds and that's what I'm hoping FS1 continues to do. If they give air time to non-NY/Boston/Chicago/LA teams then I'll follow it. I'm not a huge fan of their pannels and I agree that the two guys doing the show are trying to hard sometimes. But I'm definitely giving it a shot and have enjoyed the fact that they realize there are more teams out there than NY.

ptown_trojans_1Haven't watched and may not for a while.
I loved Speed channel, before it was taken over by NASCAR.
It was a great source for news on Open Wheel Racing and off road news.
Pretty ticked when they lost F-1, and then Windtunnel got axed too. -
GoChiefs
Used to love Windtunnel until they got rid of the call-ins. It went downhill after that.ptown_trojans_1;1489891 wrote: and then Windtunnel got axed too. -
Laley23Football Daily I like. I think it is a lot better than NFL Live or College Football Live on ESPN already.
Fox Sports Live is good, but they have way to much going on with their rundown and graphics. I like the two guys. I think they are the ones from the Canadian Sportscenter for all those years. They are good, but sometimes just too much. Overall though, they are a good duo.
What I am really looking forward to is what they can do when fall sports start. They have the NFL show before the pregam shows...that should kill ESPNs show that starts at 11am simply cause Berman isnt hosting it.
Then, they will have quite a few games which is nice, but obviosuly live events are going to get smoked by ESPN. FS1 has the rights to some pretty good stuff in the future and I assume will get the rights to even more when the channel becomes more profitable at the same time that rights to these sports become available again. -
Laley23Here is a breakdown of FS1 vs. SC. I think I am 100% in agreement with almost all the points.
I forgot to mention above how much BETTER the graphics are for FS1...I just think the side bar is too big. I love that it pertains to the story and gives information about that.

Was it known that speed was changing to FS1 like when versus changed to nbcsports? I figured I wouldn't get Fs1. I may check out their NFL stuff, but anymore it is just paralysis by analysis.ptown_trojans_1;1489891 wrote:Haven't watched and may not for a while.

Good write up. And I agree about how brutal the panel was discussing the Redskins when Cousins got hurt. McNabb needs to go.Laley23;1489909 wrote:Here is a breakdown of FS1 vs. SC. I think I am 100% in agreement with almost all the points.

sportsfan24Fox Sprots Live reminds me of SC of the 90's. I laughed out loud a couple of times watching FSL.

Yes, and most cable providers carry it right now. Fox was smart and didnt up their carriage fee for the channel and is letting Speed contracts run out before the renegotiate. Their thought is FS1 will be mainstream enough by then that providers will be willing to pay more money (which they need, cause they poured a TON into its launch and will be in the red for a few years because of it).thavoice;1489916 wrote:Was it known that speed was changing to FS1 like when versus changed to nbcsports? I completely agree that McNabb is awful. Yes, former players can have insights into the league that only players have. But they also have their own biases from playing with and against coaches/organizations/other players (positive or negative biases).mucalum49;1489921 wrote:Good write up. It's doing well enough that for now I'm going to watch it more often than ESPN. -

That def was a smart move to do it like NBCsports did. If not they would not have been in many houses. I have checked it out a little bit.Laley23;1489972 wrote:Yes, and most cable providers carry it right now.
