    Hoover in the 9th?

    Hoover was out there already.

We really going to blow a 7-0 lead?

    Joey HAS to scoop that.

Joey has to get in front of that and block it. You can't let it skip by you.

    Yes this.

Just saw the DP ball on MLB Tonight. Terrible footwork and throw from Phillips. Terrible job by Votto letting it get by him. Just bad all the way around.

Have our hitters ever practiced against a side arm thrower?

Romo and Ziegler have gotten every Red out for as long as I can remember...

Joey has to get in front of it. Bottom line.

    Take note Reds pitchers.

Picture perfect bunt technique here.

    Baseball is a crazy game.

I love the lead growing, but it worries me Aroldis coming back out.

BP could also just make an easy play, step across the bag, and throw.

Im saying it was bad on both sides. But the MLB Tonight guys were ripping on his terrible footwork...and they werent wrong.

    Chapman batting was awesome.

BP was late getting to second (timing a jump throw?....instead of busting through to clear himself of runner....but the run was because Votto chose to side swap attempt of a low velocity throw when he had ample leg left to get in front of ball and make a play on the DP.

Yank him if Jay drives in runs here.

He got to the bag late forcing him to jump. He usually is money on that play if he gets a clean jump. He was too late and Gregorius was right on his ass...

It was 8-0 and Hoover has already pitched.

Some of me honestly believes he timed it that way....Gregorious wasn't game for the highlight at all.

MLBN showed the full field angle. He slowed down and timed his arrival with the ball. If he doesnt slow, he catches it on the run and has an easy throw to first on the 3rd base side of the bag.

Per C.Trent on Twitter: "Talked to Broxton, he was pretty emotional. Said it was a new injury, new spot. Said it was like a knife in the muscle of his elbow"

There goes that investment for the 2014 season. Still 2 years, 16M remaining on his contract after this year.

I know they're the enemy right now, but as a baseball fan, you gotta love the way the D-Backs play the game. If the Reds got down 8-0, there wouldn't have even been an attempt at a comeback. The D-Back players go hard on every single play.

Broxton: 'It was that one pitch -- zing, it felt like a knife in the belly of my forearm.'

Tommy John. May be around for the reds postseason push of 2014. Bad luck with big money relievers. The good thing..the reds have plenty of live arms I that bullpen.
