Worst Team in NL Central VS The Brewers Game 1

  • Rotinaj
Cingrani throws a no hitter, hits 4 home runs then gets sent down immediately after game.

Way off dude, way off. He wouldn't even get up 4 times. I can see him getting three HR's, and the rest of the team getting shut down and not even getting a shot at a 4th.

Cingrani throws 5 perfect innings, gives up a hit to lead off 6th, dusty pulls him.
  • Terry_Tate
    Reds lose 6-4

The value of choosing the people you want to pitch to -- Lohse wanted no part of Choo, Votto, or Bruce. Would have been interesting how he would have pitched Bruce if the runners didn't move up on BP's fly out. I'll bet he still would have walked him, but not outwardly intentional like he did as it was.

A right hander gets on! But the next one hits into a DP to ruin the advantage!
  • mhs95_06
After 2, Lohse has a WHIP of 2.0 and has thrown 38 pitches, while Cingrani has a WHIP of 0.5, 37 pitches, and trails 1-0.

That play by Gomez was unbelievably gutsy....he may not play again this year
  • Ironman92
The HR by Davis was just silly
  • mhs95_06
Great hustle by Meso to go around the bases in about a minute! If he was a pitcher he would risk being hit hard from base running fatigue. Kudos to Hatcher for showing Meso the opportunity to take 2nd.
  • mhs95_06
Wise, wise use of his walks by Lohse. I was crying for Frazier to not try to pull it into a DP, but to no avail as he and Cozart cannot see what Lohse is trying to do to them with a runner on first!

Thank God for the bad throw to the plate. Meso was dead at the plate with even a decent throw. He was gassed as soon as he got to third.

    But I'll take the run.
  • Ironman92
It wasn't a bad throw...perfectly on line just a couple feet too far or short
  • mhs95_06
Votto setting on change-up gives the Reds the lead. Lohse would have probably been better served to walk him, even though he was the lead-off batter, just like he did Choo in the first.

Frasier has absolutely no plan at the plate. I still think he can be a good player, but he takes 1-2 and 0-2 swings when it's 2-1 or 2-0. He approach never changes depending on the count. I wish he would just flat set dead red on 2-1 and 2-0 pitches and take no matter what if he doesn't get that pitch.

Say what you want about ole Dunner, but that dude knew the zone and had a plan. I know he struck out a ton, but I would rather see these guys K than roll over on a shitty 2-1 breaking ball and hit into a 5-4-3 double play.

It was a pretty bad throw. Yes, it was on-line. But it didn't have to be. Threw it well short, causing the weird hop. A better throw gets that out and it's not close.

As I said though, I'll take the run.

Two on, no out against Cingrani in the 7th -- this will be the make or break inning of the game, a real test from here.
  • mhs95_06
Meso all over the field tonight - big play.

What about Dusty makes you think he's going to trust a Rookie. I would trust Cingrani over just about anyone in the rotation. The guy just has the "it" quality. He's a bulldog out there.

Real nice pick up by LeCure.
  • SportsAndLady
WEll it worked out well, but still don't agree w/ pulling him at 95 pitches after throwing a great game.
