Tribe vs Angels....Losing streak breaker thread

  • HitsRus
The Pujols-less LA Angels come to Progressive field (The Jake) for a 3 game weekend series against our Tribe starting tonite. The Indians will try to rebound after being swept by the Tigers and buried 7 games behind the Kitties in the race for the AL central crown. Only a game and a half behind lurk the surging KC Royals.

Scott Kazmir(7-4, 3.89) has been bumped up to face Jerred Weaver(6-5, 2.90) in the series lid lifter tonite.

Ubaldo Jimenez, originally scheduled to pitch tonite, will don his stirrup socks and try to get the win tomorrow instead.
Justin Masterson will pitch the Sunday game.

Rock and Blast fireworks shows will be at the conclusion of the games tonite and tomorrow. After this weekend, the Tribe goes on a 12 day road trip. Get out there and support the Tribe!

I expect another sweep. Pitching sucks and our bats have gone silent.

Indians now have more losses than the Royals. Kansas City 17-4 since the all-star break. Crazy.

One bad inning by a starter has cost the game twice in the last 4 games. Of course, an impotent offense hasn't helped either. The Tribe continues to sit back and wait for the big hit that doesn't come. Despite owning the best base stealing % in both leagues, Tito has kept he race horses tied up...swiping only 2 bases in the 5 game losing streak.(contrtast that to 6 in the 2 wins against Miami.)

    Stolen base %/#
    Kipnis 77%(21)
    Brantley 80%(12)
    Bourn 68%(17)
    Stubbs 100%(13)

I believe that implosion by Perez against the Tigers really fucked this team up. They hold on to win that game and who knows how that series turns out....we'll never know.

How did I miss the big news that Reynolds was designated for assignment. Heard it on the pre-game today on 1100. I guess it happened yesterday from the news.

Thank God we didn't give him an extension after that hot April start as there was talk of possibly doing since he was only on a 1 year deal anyway.

Perez screwed our season fact. fuck that bum.

This team has been streaky all year. The fact that it has continued into August shouldn't be a surprise. Win a bunch then lose a bunch has been the MO.

10 runners left on base through 6 innings and only 2 runs to show for it so far.

I never thought I'd be saying this, but Kipnis has been absolutely horrendous tonight, both at the plate and in the field...it's fucking embarrassing :(
  • Glory Days
Now with 4 errors they have given up more unearned runs than they have runs scored themselves....

    ugghh i cant watch anymore.

Tampa and Oakland picked a great time to go in the shitter if you are a Tribe fan.

Tampa is working on 4 losses in a row and Oakland is 3-7 in their last 10.

That has at least kept the Wild card from getting totally away, as the Tribe is about to be 4 out after tonight's loss. Could be much worse if either had been winning at a regular clip this past week.

The Royals are only .5 game behind now.

its amazing how last week they were only 3 games out of the division race....now its 8 and counting.
