Athletics vs Red Legs - Game 2

  • wildcats20
Getting this started early since it's a 12:35 start.

Colon vs Bailey. Should be a good one.
  • Rotinaj
If by good one you mean an 11-1 loss then I agree.
  • Azubuike24
I'm still amazed Colon has a sub 3 ERA. Time to rock him today.
  • Ironman92
Bout to leave. This will be a 1-0 game or a 3 hour rain delay.

I'll catch a ball inches over the fence and put it in Choo's glove

Frazier hitting in the 2-hole today.

That makes sense...take a guy that is in a horrible slump, give him a day off, and then move him to the 2-hole the next day.

I will never be surprised by a single decision Dusty makes. Giving to much thought on the crazy shit he does would just make my head explode.

I'm only surprised when he does good things. Like moving Meso up yesterday.

How far away is luddy from returning? So tired of seeing Paul in the lineup lol
  • Ironman92
Homer wild in his warmups....Colon really fat in his.

No way do we win a series against a good team, Homer beat a good team and free pizza.....too many no ways with me here.
  • wildcats20
    Homer sits em down 1, 2, 3.

    Nice start.
  • sherm03
Bases loaded and 0 outs with BP up. Unproductive out.

Then Bruce NEARLY hits into an inning ending DP...but Bruce barely beat it out to at least give the Reds 1.

Just got an ESPN alert that Corky hit a double.... Was it ground rule?? Did it get booted 6 times?? Would it have been an inside the park home run for kevin mitchell??

Is Homer having trouble working with Meso in the 6th?
  • mhs95_06
Did Meso and Frazier have trouble proberly executing the rundown play for the 2nd out in the 3rd, allowing the tying run to reach 2nd with 2 out? Seems like a proper execution would hold the batter at first!
  • Azubuike24
Homer makes me look dumb again. Another below average start against a playoff team.

I didn't see it, but if they do it properly there shouldn't be more than 2 throws in a rundown. Was it the batter who ended up at second or was it a guy on first who made it? If it was the former then it sounds like a botched rundown, but if the guy was at first then getting to second wouldn't be a stretch.

Not really. The runner is just prolonging it for as long as it takes to get the other guy up a base. It happens pretty much every time.

That was a great stat someone showed the other day with the pitchers and whom they faced. Does make a huge difference who you face. Few years ago coaching HS baseball a parent approached me about his sons era was a little bit better than another one on the team and wondered why he didn't get to pitch in the bigger games. Had to nicely explain that the competition that the two have been facing was much different!
