Yeah....Votto is not a good baserunner...but Speier saw him slow down and misstep and still sent him. That whole play just felt like he was going to be out by 25 feet, but he was only out by 12 feet. Yes, Votto should've been steam rolling but Speier compounded Votto's mistake with one of his own.

Votto's steps at 2nd and 3rd hurt him, but no way he ever thought he'd be trying to score there. Speir is terrible but he did the right thing trying to score him

    HUGE DP THERE!!!

A one hopper to SS for an inning ending 6-4-3 DP cures all ills!

Disagree. That's a play where the 3B coaching is waiving the runner around from the moment he sees the ball down the line. With Votto running on the pitch, you're giving him the "go" signal all the way. Votto stopping is the problem, and yes, you HAVE TO send him regardless.

Mesoraco needs some practice catching Chapman.

I swear he's dropped 4 pitches in the 9th already...

Speier has been an albatross as an out of place 3rd base coach, which apparently is not his forte, but I think his being a bench coach is very good.

    Good team win.
