Seattle Mariners at Cincinnati Reds - Game 87/162

This situation is very similar to when Dusty pulled Leake yesterday. But it was 1 inning earlier and runners on 1st and 2nd.

Dusty pulled Leake yesterday with only a runner on 1st and the Reds actually had 2 straight hits to make him look smart and today Latos gets a 2 run double to make him look smart again.

    Dusty's gut is guessing well.

Better bring in Mike Moore or Michael Morgan....get Richie Zisk or Bruce Bochte ready to PF

Dusty lucked out when a wild Partch plunked hitters with two pitches in a row and then got a DP ball to get out of the inning.

Mike Cameron's 5th AB was either a deep fly out of a long double.....closest to 5 HR in one game.

Latos doesn't have his best stuff today. Struggling to make it through 5

About a zero chance that Seager will hit into a much needed DP!
  • Ironman92
This is where teh Pilots swing and pull a 1st pitch for the easy DP

But they got him to make an unproductive out like the Reds make all the time!

Bad base running by Miller......he's gotta get to 3rd on that.....

Again....check where the outfielders are playing before every pitch.

Izturis foot slips, putting the throw on the hop, and Votto lucky to get it to get a big out!

Nice call....Votto gave a little bounce trying to gather It's throw....but kept his spikes on.

    Saunders just keeps swinging late.

    Thanks,

    Mat

Latos eventually gets a big zero on the board to hold the lead. Next inning, immediate hook if a runner gets aboard.

Whatever the case Dusty doesn't trust Leake still.....he'll never make it to the level of the other 4 starters.

I like Chris Welsh's new voice.
  • Ironman92
If that throw is cut off then thrown home would the scorekeeper give Cesar a triple?
  • Ironman92
Latos gets a 2nd AB in a far greater RBI position than Dusty had yesterday.....and 25 more pitches.

I trust Latos too.....but Dusty would never pull Bronson, Cueto, Homer or Latos with 70 pitches after 5 innings.
  • Ironman92
The non-stars have been getting it done the last several chances.
  • Ironman92
    Generous 2-0 call
  • mhs95_06
Just because he doesn't break stride doesn't mean he should get a double, it just means he was assuming the throw wasn't going directly to 2B, a very good assumption.
  • Ironman92
Latos goes 6 giving up 4.....that's what you let the starter do.

8 straight two out RsBI, over the course of 3 innings put the Reds in good shape to win this game!
