Reds @ Giants...Game 4

  • Ironman92
It's an early afternoon game, it's supposed to rain and I'm going to make sure of it by buying cheapo CF seats in the morning and heading down.

Hope the weather holds out for ya! I'll be off the grid for much of the next four days, so here's hoping for 4 more wins!

I have Row B in CF in front of stacks.....but yes for $13 a ticket and a 100 minute drive....I'm going to guarantee a rainout.

If it plays I may have my ass on top of the Reds dugout heckling the fuck out of Dusty.

Love those seats. I'll be on the complete opposite side as you, got tickets 2 sections behind home plate through my company. Not a bad place to be as well.

Radar does not look good. With it being the last game of SF's only trip in they'll want to do everything they can, almost, to get a legal game in sometime today or tonight. Looks like the best thing they could do, but I'm sure they won't would be to start at noon! Looks like once it gets to 4pm it won't be good at all, and maybe playing in the rain before that! Leake seems like a good pitcher to have out there for the Reds in the likely conditions.

We are at the Yardhouse waiting out the pending delay. We will probably be here a while.
  • mhs95_06
Marty says they could wait till like 7pm to start it, as the best optin if they can't get it in today would be to play it the day after the season ends. Looks like the new schedule is likely to make a lot of these situations with so many series are just only one trip to a city per season.

    6 hours to kill....myself

We're waiting this out. Screw it.

Where are you at in the park?
  • justincredible
My sources in the booth just told me they don't expect to start until around 7pm. Fack.
  • justincredible
My source says the game will be called soon. Bummer.
  • Ironman92
I took my son to the HOF (surprisingly I hadn't been there before)....we loved it. Now enjoying some O'Charley's....then home.

Will I get to use the same seats at a later date? Do I need to call and confirm their availability?
  • justincredible
Not same seats but you should get the same section. I'd call the ticket office tomorrow and see what they can do for you.

I thought they were going to wait as long as they could to play this game? Looks like the weather record for Cin on NWS shows there was no precip from 5pm to 10:30 pm. Why didn't they play from 6 to 10 pm?

There was just an absolutely ridiculous amount of rain in Cincy from noon-5:00....it was steady for most of it and it poured for several minutes a few different times....not too mention it poured a couple different times that morning.

I know they have the infield tarp but the amount of rain had to greatly affect the whole field.

And for infinite reps.....here is what will happen.....

The biggest issue I have is that the Reds would potentially have to play this (whether it means anything to them or not) and then play in the wild card play-in game either Tuesday or Wednesday. Then, if they win, host a series against their first round opponent, which will likely be Atlanta (barring the Central gets 3 playoff teams and the Reds don't win the division).

    It could potentially be...

9/29 vs PIT (last regular season game)
    9/30 vs SFG (7/4 make-up game)
10/1 at PIT or STL (or whoever the other WC team is)
10/3 vs ATL (whoever their first round opponent is, likely ATL if the Central gets 3 playoff teams)

Luckily that last regular season game is at home, otherwise you're talking 4 games in 4 locations in 5 days.

Hell of a lot better than being 74-88

What's the deal with 1/2 of the Reds games being in standard definition???

    Fuck that.

Will be interesting how this turns out. Dont expect the players union, or the teams, to agree to play on that off day that both teams have in common as it would make it 32+ in a row for both teams.
If they need to play this for any reason it will be interesting how they play it out, whom is in contention, etc.

Just our luck the reds will need to win and be in and have to throw their best in that game and be without him for the first few games of the first round.

I am not so sure the reds will even make it to the post season. As of this moment, and it can change quickly, I am not scheduled to be incognito at all this fall. The last two times the reds were in the postseason I missed it and couldnt read, listen or watch to a single game.

So either they wont make it...or they will and I will be home to be able to watch it and bring them good luck...

You know, I have a friend who has the same problem with his Dish. Last year and early this year, everything moved to HD for him, but this year, it seems like a TON of games (just Reds, switch to STO and it works fine for the Indians) for him are only available in SD. From what his neighbor (who has Direct and gets everything HD no matter what) says, part of that is because he insists on working with customer support and stuff like that, instead of the local guy whom his neighbor knows who'd put in the effort to make sure you get everything you want for what you're paying.

Don't have a clue if that's the reason, but if you're having the same problem he is, you might want to look into that, as it seems more like something between you and your carrier, as opposed to games only being shown in SD format.

Thanks....like I said, they spoiled me last year.
