sherm03Homer Bailey and Nolan Ryan are the only pitchers to throw the last no-hitter of one season, and the first no-hitter of the following season.

thavoiceSaw a few things touting back to back no hitters..........I wouldnt go as far and say that about HB as that insinuates something else.
That was pretty damned exciting. Of all the games I have played, coached, and watched that was the first no-no that I have really watched. I was in the mojave desert last fall when he threw the other one and to be quite honest I didnt even know about it until this spring when he had that interview on FSO.
Establishing the FB at the edges of the zone. That pretty much all he did. 77% of his pitches were FB's.
"I just fuckin walked the guy"....pretty funny stuff. Ranks up there with Greg Lloyd's "we're going to the fucking super bowl" -

It was back-to-back...just not on consecutive starts. When you look at the list of no-hitters, you will see Homer's name at #279 and at #280. That's back-to-back.thavoice;1467357 wrote:Saw a few things touting back to back no hitters..........I wouldnt go as far and say that about HB as that insinuates something else. -

That is true.sherm03;1467360 wrote:It was back-to-back...just not on consecutive starts. When you look at the list of no-hitters, you will see Homer's name at #279 and at #280. That's back-to-back.
But I will say this, when you say back-to-back most people will take it that he did the same thing that Johnyy Vander Meer did, and that isnt the case.
So, yes, he has thrown the last two No No's in the bigs, and technically it is back to back in terms of the league but it much diff than throwing actual back to back no no's -
