Ever since he broke his hand throwing a tantrum after getting demoted to AAA, when he's up in the bigs , he is pitching like he's looking over his shoulder for another demotion..... The guy has major league talent, but he needs to believe in himself and trust his stuff. Unfortunately, he seems to be getting put in situations where he is set up to fail, and when he does it just reinforces his mindset. Francona needs to let him have success and then get him out of there. Build a string of successful outings so Hagadone gets some confidence in himself. I don't know if this makes any sense to you guys reading this...but I think Hagadone's troubles are all in his head.
Should Tito make a deal with the other team to let Hagadone get them out? He's a big boy, hits, and this is the show!!! He's up at this level to get people out. Period. If he can't do it, they need to find someone who can.

I don't disagree with you, but organizations invest a lot of money and time in developing players and it's the managers job to take the pieces he's been handed and get the most out of them. Hagadone doesn't have anything more to learn/prove at AAA. I'm saying to put him in in non pressure situations or for 1 or 2 batters as a matchup lefty, and get him out of there before he fails. Then start working him in some tougher situations and against some right hand hitters. Young players are always 'developing'.

Losing streak broken! Kluber with a great outing....this is the kind of thing you can expect out of young pitchers....great outings, interrupted by periods of inconsistency. But the trend is always positive. I wouldn't expect this to be the norm for Kluber...at least not right away...but it sure is a good sign.

    Let's win the series tomorrow:thumbup:

McDonald did hit a whopping 2-for-31 before being put on the DL. And then spending the maximum possible time on a rehab assignment before being traded. So he's a real value pick. In the same vein that McDonalds is a real nutrition pick.
  • BRF
Maybe they think McDonald will be good in the clubhouse since he's been through several June swoons with the Tribe in the past.

So far so good...Tribe up 5-1 bottom of 5 ... Ubaldo is doing pretty good but I'm a bit worried as his fastball is coming in at the low 90's. He's thrown a lot of pitches...hpoefully he can stay clean for 2 more innings.
  • TBone14
    Bottom 7 now. Still 5-1.

    ...and here comes Hagadone:cry:

...and Stubbs hauls it down at the wall:o

I thought I was quoting the:

And Kipnis leads off the 7th with a hustle double post.

Either way. Into the 8th. Tribe still leading.

Tribe wins its first series in a few weeks and last time in Texas was 2008 wow. Ubaldo has pitch well with exception of the tigers. As bad as the last two weeks have been the tribe is only 4.5 games back. Big home stand coming up let's get on a roll tribe.
