He's pretty bad defensively overall. He's an amazing athlete, the kind of guy you watch run and move, and figure with the right training, you could turn him into just about anything. That's great for being greatly athletic overall, but not so great for a niche MLB player you are counting on playing one of the toughest positions and being a pure leadoff hitter.
IMO, if I'm the Reds, I look to deal him for someone who you still have under control for 3-4 more years. What about a deal like Corcino, Hamilton, Lutz and another prospect for Stanton?
Maybe Dayan Viciedo would be another option.
