Brew Crew @ Redlegs - Game 1

Frazier with a very good play on a foul fly that I don't think is practiced too much! Big first out for Simon on the lead-off batter.

Do the Brewers regret paying Rickie Weeks? Guy is terrible...
  • Azubuike24
LOL @ Simon going 2 innings, being allowed to "attempt to bunt" (I say that very loosely) and then not coming back out to the mound.

Meanwhile, Dusty has Derrick Robinson who is "injured" and would be the perfect guy to bunt there.

Just another run of the mill "baffler" by the Dustbag...

Simon can't bunt, Dusty! Why not pinch hit your position player who can't swing that bat who I think can bunt(and run) pretty well?

Yea Sam,lets walk the two guys ahead of Braun. Brilliant.

    BP...holy shit.
  • Ironman92
One of BP's best plays ever.

    Wowwww

    Defense tonight has been excellent.

Ok....now Thom can just go fuck off. It was a phenomenal play.....but it has nothing to do with last year.

Phillips has been excellent this year. By FAR my most enjoyable year of watching him.

What a battle between LeCure and Hanigan vs. Braun! Culminated by an unconventional inning ending great double play. As that ball was taking forever to bounce down there, I had a flashback to a play on Sportscenter earlier this week where the pitcher made a great throw trying to start a DP, but neither of the keystone combination reached out to take the throw and it went to CF, getting no outs. That ball just bouncing was earmarked for the same thing, but BP didn't allow that.

Yes, it has. My only disappointments were the first batter of the game getting on, and Bruce not catching the first HR. Both extremely difficult plays, and I think the robbing of the HR was most do-able! Many times over the years, Bruce has gone back on a balls that are close whether they are going over the wall or not, and he looks like he has a "bead" on them, and for some reason does not come up with them.

Have the brewers had a 1 2 3 inning??? Walks every where tonight

    .

I agree. Seems like he is more mature or something. In my mind he doesn't seem as hot-doggish as he has been, or maybe I have gotten used to him!

Oh, I forgot the play should have been made, but was not, was the BP muff of the DP ball and they just got one out. In the end, the extra 6 pitches probably got Cingrani out of the game after 4, but probably saved him a melt down in the 5th.

1,2,3 in the 2nd with no Ks, all 6 pitch ABs.
  • Azubuike24
Billy Hamilton hit 2 HR OVER THE FENCE in a game tonight. In his 409 career minor league games coming into tonight, he had 7 career HR's, 3 of them being inside the park.

    Talk about an anomaly...

So dusty bunts cozart in the first inning but not the fucking 8th with 2 on...unreal.

He's too scared they would walk Votto and load the bases for Phillips. We all know BP hasn't produced squat this year
  • Azubuike24
BTW, if there is a team who generally tortures their fans as much as the Reds...it's Milwaukee.

Lots of previously "achieving" players and overpaid players who simply stink it up now.
  • mhs95_06
I predict that if Braun gets to face Chapman, he will turn around a 99 mph FB for a GWH.
  • Azubuike24
    Hey, guess what?

4 of the 5 Reds' bench guys will go unused.

    Dusty, saving them for tomorrow...
  • mhs95_06
Now we see why Dusty did not hit Robinson for Simon to bunt - he wanted him in LF for defense late, whic he could have had with Robinson staying in th 9th spot for Simon, and LeCure ging into the 7th spot for X.
  • Ironman92
BP, Frazier, Hanigan, Robinson.....4 top great great plays.
