Former Jacksonville Jags RB Fred Taylor says Jags may be LA Bound....

I am not a Jags fan, I just happen to live in Jacksonville now but the economic impact it would have the on the city would be devastating!! I hope they do not move but the fans here need to get their butts in gear and support them or they will be bye bye! -
RotinajI cant blame them for wanting to move..Theyve sold out what, 1 home game all year??? Thats pretty sad since they are in the playoff hunt.
-
Fab1bI agree and the fans here are terrible, they cannot seperate college/pro here. Plus the stadium is too big for NFL here. That was their first mistake, the Gator Bowl is too big for them to sell out all season.
-
pkebkerAs a fan with no ties to Jacksonville, i'd say good riddance. The NFL deserves to have a team in LA, and Jacksonville hasn't been a good market, pure and simple. Jacksonville doesn't have any other major sports teams does it?
-
Fab1bThere are no other major sports teams here in Jacksonville, correct. I think it was a major shock when Jacksonville was awarded the franchise. Normally I would say yes move out cya, but since I live here I know it will have a huge negative affect on the economy here and it is all ready bad enough.
-
gorocks99Yeah, unfortunately for the city of Jacksonville, when pretty much all your home games are blacked out, it means you're the numero uno candidate for moving.
-
jordo212000Yep I expect Jacksonville to lose the team. I used to be a fan back in my younger days (I liked the unis and Mark Brunell) but selling out 1 game all season is inexcusable, especially when you have a solid team.
-
Tigerfan00would there be any other cities that would be considered or is LA pretty much the city that will be getting the next team?
-
darbypitcher22The NFL does have a team in L.A.
Pete Carroll coaches it -

BCBulldogI would be more surprised if they were to stay in Jacksonville. LA seems like an obvious fit, but there are a dozen other cities that would do better than Jacksonville. Of course, that's not exactly setting the bar very high.
-
darbypitcher22so technically L.A. would have two teams then... Looks like we're goin' to 33 teams...

your joke was ok the first time. not so much this time.darbypitcher22 wrote: so technically L.A. would have two teams then... Looks like we're goin' to 33 teams... -
SageIf they do move to LA, hopefully they ditch the "Jaguars" moniker.
Only team I want in LA is the Raiders. -
Fab1bI don't think Oakland will give up the Raiders so there won't be two Raiders teams. Personally I think they should go else where then LA. How many teams have moved into and out of LA already? Rams, Chargers, Raiders...anyone else?
-
SykotykLA Kings - Expansion
Anaheim Ducks - Expansion
Los Angeles Rams - Relocation In, Relocation Out
Los Angeles Raiders - Relocation In, Relocation Out
Los Angeles Chargers - Expansion, Relocation Out
Los Angeles Dodgers - Relocation In
Los Angeles Angels - Expansion
Los Angeles Lakers - Relocation In
Los Angeles Clippers - Relocation In
LA has only had 3 new teams. The rest relocated there from elsewhere in the country. They've lost three teams via relocation, and the Chargers may become the Raiders of the south (leave, and then return years later).

p.s., yes I threw Anaheim into the equation since it's the LA metro area. -

Well the NFL can't market USC, so I really don't get this joke. Besides the huge college fanbase, and a quality team, they really have no value for the NFL. Since the mega stadium is already being built, LA will definitely have the next team, and should. It will either be the team from Jacksonville, or St. Louis. My guess is Jacksonville. And the would probably change their name from Jaguars. I'm sure they could come up with something cooler.Fab1b wrote:

Fab1bIts not meant to be taken that seriously with USC, we are saying the USC players are already being paid and driving fancy cars!!
-
End of Line
ESPN markets USC like a pro team.pkebker wrote:

pkebkerI get what you guys are saying, it just doesn't make sense from an NFL standpoint...The NFL needs a team in America's 2nd largest city...period
-
Tigerfan00The NFL could have a California Division if LA were to get a team, I mean how many teams does one state need.
-
Emmett BrownThe list of teams I heard that is possible for relocation are:
Oakland (needs a new stadium)
St. Louis (really????)
San Diego (needs a new stadium)
Jacksonville (not enough fan support)
Minnesota (needs a new stadium)
Buffalo ( needs a new stadium) -

Debate if you want whether Jacksonville deserves the team -- but Los Angeles shouldn't EVER get an NFL team again.pkebker wrote: As a fan with no ties to Jacksonville, i'd say good riddance. They simply don't give a crap about pro football in that town.
But because it's such a large market, the NFL feels it has to be there. Yet every time they put a team there, it ends up failing miserably.
I guess they figure THIS time will be different.
Yeah, right. -
darbypitcher22Ziggy Wylf is trying to get funding together for a new stadium in Minneapolis...
-
Tigerfan00Good luck with that in Minnesota since the Gophers and Twins just got brand new stadiums.
Oakland is on the list of possible relocation but yet people want to have a team in LA?
