Reds @ Cardinals - The Rubber Match

  • sherm03
    Jay Bruce went on a Twitter rant last night blasting the people criticizing him. Let's see if he'll actually step up and prove those people wrong...or if he's just all talk.

    Fuck the Cardinals.
  • Azubuike24
    Maybe he should find a right-handed pitcher and take some swings...

    Bruce's rant.

    @JayABruce 11h
    I appreciate all the tweets, good and bad, actually. You guys are what drive the game. I'm obviously not hitting as well as I'd like to, yet

    @JayABruce 11h
    ....I actually feel sorry for the people on here who feel that it's necessary to try and put me down on twitter. It really just explains...

    @JayABruce 11h
    Further who you are, and there are obviously things in your life that you're unhappy about and you take it out on me via twitter...I suggest

    @JayABruce 11h
    you look into talking with a life coach or something to help you get over whatever you have going on in your life. There is obviously a....

    @JayABruce 11h
    lack of something going on, and I hope you guys get it straightened out, because you all sound like idiots Everyone have a good night. Haha

    People who call out players on Twitter are idiots. Do people really think Bruce doesn't want to be hitting better? It's frustrating as a fan, being acting like a child on a social media site isn't going to make them play better.

    It's a double-edged sword. I'd argue that players who take what random Twitter commenters say (Bruce clearly did) seriously are in the same class of "idiots."

    The only people worse are the ones that go after the players' wives. I know Dallas Latos can be pretty annoying. But she deals with some major shit from people on Twitter.

    Not necessarily. He has 1000s of followers. Most of them ppl who are just fans. But friends too. After a game he probably has 100s of mentions. He probably scans through them because some could actually be from ppl he wants to hear from.

    I say my fair share of fuck Bruce on twitter. But id NEVER do it as a mention. Thats stupid.

    I love twitter but this is the huge downside to it. Fans have way too much clear access to the player. There is no filter.

    Reps. One can only take so much. I'm sure he's let 1000's of negative tweets go. Plus, this is Jay Bruce, who seems to be a standup guy.

    Bruce gets a little pop fly to fall in front of a sliding Holliday, and when the ball gets past him Bruce ends up on third.

    Now let's see if Frazier can bring him in with one out.
  • Laley23
    I love smart baserunning. That tag from 1st to 2nd by Frazier was awesome.
  • sherm03
    Too bad Lutz couldn't come through. I knew when it was up to Corky and Bailey that there was no way we were getting a run across there.

    That's a big missed opportunity.
  • sherm03
    Fuck!

    That jack by Beltran might be enough.

    We really don't have a reason to think otherwise.
  • sherm03
    Bailey with just enough hesitation after making the turn at first to get gunned down trying to stretch his single into a double.
  • Midstate01
    Choo needs the day off bad. 3 ks today. He hasn't had a long at bat in well a long time.

    Ya...he's definitely looking forward to tomorrow.
  • sherm03
    The hit-and-run works out well as BP is able to get a gap shot scoring Votto from first.

    Fuck yes!
  • Midstate01
    Heyyyyy phillips rbi double. A great at bat by phillips.
  • Midstate01
    Bruce has two hits with nobody on. Risp, bruce a 3 pitch k. And all 3 fb's. First two right down the middle.
  • sherm03
    Fuck you Carpenter.
  • Midstate01
    3-3. And like usual the reds give the lead up after tying it. Cards offense is relentless.
  • Midstate01
    And ball game
  • sherm03
    That last run may have been the back breaker.
