    Votto is the GOAT

    Reds lose 6-4

At least Berkman is out of St. Louis!

Could be a lot of offense today. Stike zone is very tight.
  • se-alum
Oh, a catcher up with 2 on, will he treat us like all the other catchers we've faced this year.

Defense lets Latos down! Cards get away taking a lot of close pitches.

Choo's error cost Latos 2 runs
  • se-alum
Choo looked a lot like Stubbs playing balls close to the wall.

Garcia getting the calls on the corner. Latos is not.

    Garcia's fastball is nasty today

The way the sun looks to be postioned, wht the shadow angle straight from home to CF, it is really giving Choo fits. He was battling it in the 1st on the error, an the 2nd on the ball that Heisey took that Choo was going very low trying to get a bead on it.

Latos has retired 7 straight, but has thrown 59 pitches in 3 innings. Cards can foul off some pitches!

What the hell was Heisey doing?
  • Midstate01
Heisey is retarded. He easily could have been safe. Fucktard

Stupid play by Heisey. Luckily Bruce comes through in the clutch and gets Votto in.

Looked like Heisey's mindset going into home ws to take out Molina to keep him from throwing to first for a double play. But he had Molina going away from the plate on the tag play, which was not going to allow any chance to get BP at first, so Molina was set up to be had by a quick fade away slide with Heisey's foot catching the edge of the plate along the 3rd base line.

That makes no sense. It's not a force play. I think heisey is just dumb or completely goofed

I agree, going right into Molina a yard off the plate toward first base proves it, but he would have looked extremely smart playing it like a wide receiver, driving Molina to the inside, then sharply breaking to the outside. The final two foot strokes exposed his level of baseball IQ!

With 81 pitches thru 5, looks like Latos may be able to go 7 if he doesn't get into too much trouble in the 6th and 7th.

    Choo's ERA today is brutal

You mean UeRA(un-earned runs allowed)! Choo's 2 errors have cost the Reds 3 runs and 6 extra pitches.
  • Terry_Tate
Damn, too bad that wasn't Robinson on at first, he would have scored.
  • mhs95_06
Votto has to be spitting nails after an easy bounce out to end the inning on the 3-0 cripple with runners on 2nd and 3rd and 2 out, the tying and lead runs!
  • Terry_Tate
Damn, what an at bat by Xavier Paul. Tie ballgame. Huge huge hit.
  • mhs95_06
Hanigan missed the pitch he should have got the run in on, the one that nearly knocked out Molina, then K'd.
  • Midstate01
Be interesting to see who baker goes with these next two innings. Fay thought both chapman and broxton would not pitch.

I give Dusty kudos for his moves today so far, just hven't all worked out as well as they could have. I think the 3-0 botched swing by Votto, the Paul pinch hit for Cozart, knowing he had switch hitter Izturis there to bat for the P, were all the right calls. Just a shame that Votto and Hanigan missed their pitches. Sure the errors have been overcome to tie it, but it could have been so much better!
