  Side note: this thread is fine, but I'd def like to do game by game threads like we normally do. This thread could run parallel to game threads as more "off the field" type moves like trades, baker's idiocies, minor league news, etc.

  Paul's great as a pinch-hitter and spot starter. Even bumping him to platoon will hurt, though. That's what happened in Pittsburgh two years ago. He did really good in a limited role, so the team increased his role to get him on the field as often as possible. And so we found out that he really is a .250 hitter without much power.
