Caleb Moore, Freestyle Snowmobiler, dies after X-Games crash

  Surprisingly, first death in X-Games history. Only 25 years old.
  
  "Moore stayed down for quite some time, before walking off with help and going to a hospital to treat a concussion. Moore developed bleeding around his heart and was flown to a hospital in Grand Junction for surgery. The family later said that Moore, of Krum, Texas, also had a complication involving his brain."

  That's what I thought when I first read your post. Maybe someone slipped up post crash. It's definitely odd that he was able to walk off on his own. The ESPN article said he developed a complication with his brain.
  
  Remember a few years back a celeb died following a concussion....she was skiing? Her name slips my mind. But she was diagnosed with a concussion, sent home, then developed something much worse.

  Hard to say, but it just says he originally went for a concussion, then later developed bleeding around the heart. Like I said in my edited post though, I'm sure waivers were signed that would prevent anyone from being held accountable, negligence or not. Like you, I'm obviously not a lawyer either though. Just my guess.

  Can you sign a waiver that says you can't sue even with repeated negligence? I really don't know, just seems like I would sign a waiver saying if I crash and die on the spot, sure my estate won't sue you. But if I crash and someone doesn't properly care for me, I'm not signing that waiver. You could literally crash and get shoveled to the side of the course by a maintenance guy and the competition just carry on while you sit there and bleed out.

  Typically, if you call the ambulance for something like falling down a few stairs, the medics are basically going to make you lay still on a board just in case you hurt your head, neck, spine, etc. So it's pretty crazy that this guy was thrown from his snowmobile and the damn thing rolled over top of him, and no one had the sense to treat it more carefully.

  ^^ thats what I'm saying. I am in that field and its absolutely crazy that they didn't do c-spine, collar and back board him. That was a horrible accident, and the trama was there to take all those steps. Now I'm not saying had the proper steps been followed he would be alive right now but come on, the hit his body took was insane. Somebody should definitely be in trouble for that.
