YOUR Top 5 QB's of All Time?

ernest_t_bassSPIN OFF!!!
Who are your top 5 QB's to play in the NFL. Doesn't necessarily have to be "all time," and go back to the 20's, where any starting QB would be 3rd string on a HS roster. The game is a different game, and has evolved into a game where the QB is something much different. Who are YOUR top 5 NFL QB's?
1. Peyton Manning
2. Dan Marino (bias)
3. Joe Montana
4. Brett Favre
5. Steve Young

6. John Elway
7. Tom Brady -

Commander of AwesomeAny list that doesnt begin or at least contain Otto Graham is a fail list.

I had him at 6. Seems the rest here think football started around 1984.Commander of Awesome;1366408 wrote:Any list that doesnt begin or at least contain Otto Graham is a fail list. -
WebFireAnd Roger Staubach at #7. He is what made the Cowboys America's team.

How would he do in the league today? Honest question.Commander of Awesome;1366408 wrote:Any list that doesnt begin or at least contain Otto Graham is a fail list. -

See my previous post. Honest questions. HOw would those guys do in the league today?WebFire;1366412 wrote:And Roger Staubach at #7. He is what made the Cowboys America's team. -

Oh, this argument. Let's just ignore history then. Might as well start with 2000.ernest_t_bass;1366413 wrote:How would he do in the league today? Honest question. -

I'm actually trying to have a conversation here. Don't give me a cop-out bullshit answer. Do you think they would do the same in the league today, or even 1984?WebFire;1366416 wrote:Who knows? -

Sorry that we don't latch onto the good ole days when a bunch of nonathletic white people were playing defense. The league is so much bigger, stronger, faster than anything in history. There's no guarantee any of those players would even make an NFL team, much less achieve greatness.WebFire;1366415 wrote:Oh, this argument. Let's just ignore history then. WebFireHmmm Ok. Then give a starting year. Top of all-time is misleading. I'm not latching on to anything. I just thought it was supposed to be best of all-time.
BTW, what would Peyton Manning do in the 40s and 50s? -

I don't disagree. I think some would have done well though. The only one on my top 5 that I think is questionable is Baugh, but he pretty much invented the QB position. The others could play today.sleeper;1366424 wrote:Sorry that we don't latch onto the good ole days when a bunch of nonathletic white people were playing defense. Cop-out? None of us know the answer to your question. Like I said, all but Baugh would be fine today.ernest_t_bass;1366420 wrote:I'm actually trying to have a conversation here. Don't give me a cop-out bullshit answer. Do you think they would do the same in the league today, or even 1984? -

The cut off is you have to have played at some point in the 2000's.WebFire;1366429 wrote:Hmmm Ok. Then give a starting year. Top of all-time is misleading. I'm not latching on to anything. I just thought it was supposed to be best of all-time.

Peyton Manning would win 12 straight MVP and 12 straight Super Bowls in the 40s and 50s. He would amass 400,000 yards of total offense and have over 1,000 passing TDs. -

He would then come back as a WR, win 3 more Super Bowls and 3 more MVPs, along with catching for 20,000 yards and over 100 TDs,sleeper;1366435 wrote:The cut off is you have to have played at some point in the 2000's.

Raw Dawgin' itLets add Cam Newton and RG3 then to the 40s and 50s discussion, pretty sure every they run the ball they'd score.

Even Jamarcus Russell would light up the 40's and 50's.Raw Dawgin' it;1366437 wrote:Lets add Cam Newton and RG3 then to the 40s and 50s discussion, pretty sure every they run the ball they'd score. -

Wrong. Unless Manning was transporting Marvin Harrison & Reggie Wayne back with him he wouldn't be nearly as successful.sleeper;1366435 wrote:Peyton Manning would win 12 straight MVP and 12 straight Super Bowls in the 40s and 50s. Your right. The WR would probably be too stupid to understand a Peyton manning offense.BR1986FB;1366451 wrote:Wrong. Unless Manning was transporting Marvin Harrison & Reggie Wayne back with him he wouldn't be nearly as successful.
