AFC Championship: Batltimore Ravens @ New England Patriots

As a Browns fan, I've long since made my peace with Bill B. Not so with the City of Baltimore and the Ratbirds, the NFL's illegitimate bastard.

    Go pats!

I'm not saying they will....but the Patriots at home can blow anyone.

I think the game will be tight....but Brady wants this badly. He'll do at least one of his vaunted crow hop 1st down signals this game.....maybe 2

Oh yeah I know it's possible for the Pats to win by 14+. I just think it will be a close game.

Spread is the same as the Houston game, -9.5

The Ray Lewis retirement tour ends this week. (I sure hope so-so tired of seeing his ugly mug after darn near every play)

Ha where is Dante Stallworth's mug shot?

10-1 for the Pats in the poll. I'm liking that. I'm sure it would've been the same for Denver last week. I know there are a few differences in this game though. One being how much better Brady is in the post season than Manning but also Brady generally has more trouble with Baltimore than Peyton.

    It's only Tuesday. Damn!

Hate the Ravens so I hope that brady and pats win. Always like watching one of the all time great QBs play just like I enjoy watching great pitchers in baseball even if they are not on my favorite team.

The ONLY solace of the ravens winning though would be because they were the former browns and that still makes some of them mad. Browns fans hate the ratbirds so badly that I dont mind if they win just to make them mad..and it continues my contention that you win once you LEAVE cleveland!

You won earlier this year on a botched FG call. Baltimore def. has played a ton of snaps, don't see them keeping up with the hurry up and I don't think they have the LBs to cover Hernandez and Welker.

Ha why did you mention the game earlier in the year? Some say it was botched and some don't. The spread is going to be great bulletin board material for the Ravens' D and no one thought they would keep up with those players plus Gronk last year and they did. Your point is well taken. I just don't think it's going to be a blow out.

Patriots have a much better run game this year than last year. Also, NE didn't have Talib the first time we played either, so i think Smith won't be as much of a factor. They'll let Boldin get some short ones but I don't think they'll let Flacco connect on a bomb.

    Ravens will cover

I guess we shall see how it goes. I can't wait.

Is the spread still at 9.5?

My gambling site has it at 8.5
  • bigdaddy2003
Oh my bad. I thought it was 9.5.

I can't stand Baltimore and will be rooting for New England all the way. That being said, I think the Rats will win this. Just like Denver, nobody is giving them a chance. Nothing to lose so they can play loose.

Interesting factoid which actually surprised me and may have been previously mentioned. If Flacco and Baltimore wins this game, Flacco will become the all-time winningest QB (on the road) in NFL history.

i think initially it was - it gets changed depending how many people are betting on one team. If not enough people are taking b'more they'll give them better odds to even it out.

Might help in the future if he can play better during the regular season so they actually have a home game.

Agreed. I think he's a mediocre QB but if he wins this game and somehow wins the SB, he will be asking for "top 5 QB money" in his upcoming contract negotiations.
