The Worst

Ironman92What game made you feel the worst (that you watched)
High School
College
Pro
High School...our local football team lost in the 1997 regional semis after leading the entire game....never quite putting them away and then gave up a TD to a kid that broke about 7 tackles with only 13 seconds left in the game.
College....again 1997 (I think) Ohio State undefeated and #1 at Mich St and on 4th and 1 late in the fourth and driving we get stuffed by TJ Turner of Hillsboro that Cooper didn't recruit.....went on to finish #2
Pro...2002 Divisional round Steelers get screwed on a running into the kicker after a miss FG and then lose to the Titans.....or 2001 AFC Championship game..knock out Brady (after they should've lost to the Raiders) and Drew Bledsoe leads them to the SB and championship....felt worse after those 2 than either SB loss. -
Ironman92Thanks for playing.

Commander of AwesomeTop of my head, 2007 Browns v Raiders game. Fucking Dunn. Not sure why, but that game above any other stands out as the worst.
Followed by Browns 2003 playoff loss to pittspuke. Fuck Dropcutt, Botch Davis, and the prevent defense. -

You in your 20's? That game had to be way up there for those of you under 30. I was so pissed off early I left the house and came back when I thought the game would almost be over....good fortunes but then the effin Titans ripped our hearts out the next game. -
Commander of AwesomeYes, I'm in my 20s.

That's weird, I was going to say the 2007 Cardinals game. When Winslow got pushed out of the end zone. That, the 09 ECF with the Cavs, and the game 7 of the 97 world series.Commander of Awesome;1357997 wrote:Top of my head, 2007 Browns v Raiders game. Fucking Dunn. These as well. 07 ALCS also ranks up there.Mulva;1358029 wrote:That's weird, I was going to say the 2007 Cardinals game. When Winslow got pushed out of the end zone. That, the 09 ECF with the Cavs, and the game 7 of the 97 world series. -

This was my first thought. By this time, Lebron's odds of returning to Cleveland were starting to look dim.Mulva;1358029 wrote: That, the 09 ECF with the Cavs
I didn't/don't get into high school/college sports enough to care that much. I do especially hate when the Bengals lose to the Steelers, though. -

SonofanumpEasy list to make:
NCAA Football: MSU beating OSU in '98
NFL: Byner '87
MLB: Mesa '97
NBA: Ehlo '89 (don't follow NBA since early 90's.) -
royal_kThe Drive
The Fumble
The Shot
The Choke-97 WS -
Laley23HS - Lost in Regional Semifinals, though it was expected, we had a goal disallowed in the 1st half and lost 2-0.
College - IU losing to Maryland in the NCAA Title game (2002)
Pro - Vanderjact miss and Tracy Porter INT (at least it was an IU grad)
- Lakers over Pacers for Kobes first title
- Braves, Marlins, Red Sox. Mostly Marlins and then Red Sox -
like_thatHS- When I coached anytime a wrestler didn't achieve his goal of qualifying for state. Tough pill to swallow seeing a guy come up short.
College - Miami University hockey losing to BU in the national title game.
MLB - Jose fucking Mesa choking on a dick in game 7 of the 97 world series
NBA - 2009 ECF. LeBron was such a ***** that series. He would just stay at the top of the key and wait for the shot clock to hit zero. He was afraid to get rejected by Dwight.
NFL - Since the playoff game was already mentioned, I will go with the Dwayne Rudd helmet game. I was LIVID. -

That Rudd game didn't he sack the QB on the last play and get a penalty for slinging his helmet which gave the other team a chance to win it? -
like_that
The QB dumped the ball off to a lineman before he was sacked. Rudd though the play was over so he threw his helmet. Can't end a game on a defensive penalty. Browns would have been the 6th seed regardless of the outcome of that game, but KC def didn't earn that win.Ironman92;1358291 wrote:That Rudd game didn't he sack the QB on the last play and get a penalty for slinging his helmet which gave the other team a chance to win it? -
shook_17Worst high school feeling.. Getting bounced in the Final Four Division 4 football game against Ketttering Alter my senior year. These guys had all five of their starting linemen D1 and D2 football schollys. Their stud runningback was Chris Borland, starting LB for Wisconsin considered on of the best LBs in the nation. We lost by 7. had a turnover on our 20, fumbled snap, and stopped on the 2 yard line right before the half, which would have tied it going into half. Truly a great experience through the playoffs and worst experience of my life losing that game. Shit that year we even play Micah Hyde starting CB from Iowa. THEE best athlete i have ever played against. dude could make all 11 on defense miss and then some.
Worst College... Can honestly say never a bad feeling.
Worst NFL id have to say since 99 the Browns heart break to never get anything right. I absolutely love the Browns and just same shit year in and year out. Hopefully Chip Kelly changes this. -
Terry_TateCollege Football: Ohio State losing to Texas in 05, not counting the Championship game losses.
NFL: Carson Palmer going down in 05-06 Playoffs
College Basketball: OSU losing to Kentucky in 2011 -
Gardens35Ara played for the tie.
-
SportsAndLadyBottlegate game...that's why I threw all those bottles

dazedconfusedindians losing the world series in 97 sucked but i think 2007 is up there as well. losing a 3 games to 1 lead to the eventual champions was just gutting

It's def up there, but 97 was a "welcome to being a Cleveland fan" moment when I was a child. It still stings to this day. -
Classyposter58High School- Watching my alma mater Genoa who was absolutely dominant in 2010 lose 36-35 to Orrville in Round 2. They trailed 29-8 at the half, committed 3 turnovers, and still almost came back to win. Missed an extra point late in the 4th to lose, IMO that team should have won the school's first ever state title
College- Ohio State/Michigan State 1998
Pro- US/Canada Gold Medal game in 2010, just depressing after that Parise goal. Ryan Miller played absolutely insane. Also Game 7 of the 2009 Stanley Cup Finals. F*** Sidney Crosby -
Trueblue23NCAAF: 2006. The Game. 11-0 vs 11-0.
NCAAB: Duke loses to Indiana because Jay Williams jokes.
NFL: Titans vs the Rams in the Super Bowl. One. Yard. Short.
NBA: Lakers lose Game 4 (which they should've won) against the Celtics in 2008. -
