Ben Roethlisberger

Reps when I can for this. However, I think it's just the nature of fans to give your own team/fan base the benefit of the doubt (Browns fans being accused of assaulting Grandma's and 3rd graders) by saying there's probably more to the story but calling a guy playing for a hated rival a rapist when he's never even been charged with that crime.
Personally, I believe that Ben is or was a douche and probably was a slime bag with women at times but wasn't actually raping them. I think he acted like a dick and then made himself an easy target and with his rep some females accused him of rape even though it wasn't. Poor judgement on his part and being an asshole. But I do cheer for Ben the player on game days. Every team has some dirtbags and whether some of you know it or believe it or not....you are cheering for them on game days too. -

What a scum bag. Yeah thevoice, its clear he thought she was 18. /sarcasm SMH
Even if he did think she was 18, what the hell is he doing? Trying to have sex in a college bar bathroom as an "adult" and with an 18 yr old who could still be in HS. LMAO at you trying to defend the POS.
Three things...
1. Ben sucks first and foremost
2. Why would anyone let a 16 year old girl drive him home? Not her fault but whoever put her in that situation sucks as well.
3. You know a lot about Roethlisberger. -
Commander of AwesomeAgreed Ironman on the first point. The second point, blaming someone for putting her in that situation? LMAO, guess you're blaming Rapistberger. Its someone elses fault that ben is a rapping scum bag POS who like to rape under aged girls in bar bathrooms? And its someone elses fault besides Rapistberger that he's a creepstake and goes to college bars, gets wasted and then needs a ride home? I honestly thought you were a little better than that Ironman. I'll start by blaming the rooney's then, SMH.
Your post last night defending that scumbag pos made me look more into him. I knew he was a POS, but after researching, he's a predator that needs to be behind bars. I'm dead serious when I say I couldn't root for him, or someone like him on the Browns. -
Commander of AwesomeSerious question Ironman. If this guy played QB for the bengals, would you feel the same you do about Roethlisberger? http://www.cnn.com/2012/06/13/justice/ohio-serial-rapist/index.html
He's raped 4 women, not 3. But he may or not know how to throw the pigskin. -

How did you take my 2nd item and turn it into that? Lol You make me sound like I'm the criminal. I keep making my thoughts on Ben, which agree with you.....my second point doesn't defend Ben at all.....but whoever put that 16 year old in that situation also sucks at life.....in the same manner as Michael Jackson and all his weirdness, why would any parent let them visit or stay with him....the parents aren't doing the gross/illegal stuff, but they also need called out....BUT IN NO ATTEMPT TO LESSEN THE HEAT FROM MJ OR BR. -

You tell me something first. I really, really don't follow off the field stuff. How has Ben gotten off of each? I don't know the stories of each beyond what you guys put on here. Michael Vick couldn't get off without years in prison and losing $100,000,000. What about Plaxico? Plax got years in prison for having a gun and shooting himself in the leg?
I'm not defending....I don't know the answer. -

Yeah, I agree with all of this. -

"Today another court didn’t have the fortitude to prosecute this football player perhaps because of his football career, expensive lawyers and bullying tactics from the NFL who investigated the charges also. The woman was seen by a doctor and visual signs of physical trauma typically found in raped women that were recorded after the alleged rape incident happened to her. There was no release of information regarding any DNA samples requested of Roethlisberger or whether his DNA was found on the body of the woman as evidence of sexual contact either by force or otherwise. Without these tests being conducted it is inconclusive as to whether he did rape the woman or not and he has not defended himself at all in any statement other than a denial of the case and evidence. A victim that is highly intoxicated is a poor witness for her own defense. It is obvious that he has bodyguards to protect him from criminal charges as he goes about his activities. The purpose of his numerous bodyguards is to keep watch for any witnesses.Ironman92;1347046 wrote:You tell me something first. I really, really don't follow off the field stuff. This is the third time he has been charged and a pattern is definitely visible. The case of another famous NFL football player escaping charges of rape and criminal charge of : assault. The Steelers officials win again in fending off further criminal charges of yet another football player found to be consuming large amounts of alcohol, bar hopping, and charged with assault a woman. The Steelers and their lawyers must have worked day and night to fight his charge -the third charge of rape against this player." -
Gblockhe got off because of no evidence and lack of credibilty by the "victims" who most likely are coming out now to try to get paid
-
Ironman92COA....thanks. Honestly....if we're ranking the biggest POS athletes, Ben has to be on that list for his off-field doings. If he throws for 355 yards and beats the Bengals and then helps lead the Steelers for a GW drive against Cleveland to help put us in the playoffs...I'm going to be happy the Steelers won. I'd prefer Polamalu to have GW pick sixes in each game as he's my favorite player. He's the player on my kids' jerseys...but if Ben is the key cog....I'm not celebrating him but am celebrating my team.
The Steelers have always been my team. They were my team 20 years before been and health permitting 20+ years after he's gone.
Someone similar on a rival? I would be a little happier than normal when the Steelers took it to him and would be a little pissier if he was pretty important to our loss. -
BR1986FBInteresting. Wonder if their GM is seeing what most are...that he's a 30 year old living in a 50 year old's body. Doubt they use a 1st rounder on a QB but he's heading toward the downside of his career...

There's a part of me thinking that last year could be a determining factor at them deciding they have to get younger at key positions even if it costs them that fabled "one more run". When you consider how virtually anyone who was anyone missed at least a couple games due to injury and how the team is aging, I think they might be at a stage where the old "wrap 'em in duct tape and send 'em out for another year" ship might have sailed.
Probably depends on the mindset. On one hand, you could say that despite all the injuries and stuff, they were in the playoff race until near the end. On the other, they have a lot of older players who struggle to stay healthy and banking that they all (or at least most of them) will next year just seems like setting yourself up to fail. -
AutomatikDownside, in terms of production? Not really. In terms of health, definitely. He was doing great before the injury.
I'd be all for drafting a QB if the right one came along. For the upcoming draft. I can't really think of anyone I would like to have, especially in round 3 or later. -

Your line of thinking has kind of been my thoughts for awhile. While Colbert has drafted well, has he really hit any "home runs" over the past few years (drafting defense)? He hasn't gotten any Polamalu's or Harrison's (I know Harrison wasn't drafted by them) to replace these guys.Heretic;1368354 wrote:There's a part of me thinking that last year could be a determining factor at them deciding they have to get younger at key positions even if it costs them that fabled "one more run". Those guys are superstar/impact players and replacing them, with similar production, won't be easy. Sure, he's drafted some good "guys" but I haven't seen any impact/game changers like Troy. That's where the rest of the pack in the division can catch up to them. -
Ironman92Would love a great backup.
Ben seems good for 10 games, 3 games injured and 3 not good recovering. -
AutomatikI want defense in the first round.
I'm also anxious to see how Decastro pans out. Spence too, from everything I heard he was doing great until his injury.
