Will the Lakers make the playoffs?

  • sleeper
First of all, no. Second of all, Dwight and/or Gasol will be gone by the deadline.

The team sucks and is poorly coached. It's only a matter of time before Kobe starts throwing his team under the bus and demanding for a real center(aka Varejao). It wouldn't surprise me at all for the Lakers to try and trade for Varejao to save their season.

Who knows, but Dwight Howard is so overrated...they would have been just as well off with Bynum.

I predicted that they wouldn't make the playoffs after their preseason and the usual "failwedge' comments came storming out from the OC gallery.

Their team is old and they blow. People wanted to blame Brownie for all their woes. These fux do not want to play defense. Steve Nash went completely over the hill and the future HOFer is now arguably the worst point guard in the league. His staple of pick and roll dishes are now too slow. It's painful to watch.

DH does not have the complete package (think Duncan especially in his younger days) and as such is overated. Take the Knicks minus the 6.5 points tonight as the bookies continue to hand out free money. The public just can't get it through their skulls that the Lakers might be a lottery team this year.

    Andy>> than Howard?

I agree 100%. Verejao should have been LeBron's annual sidekick at the All Star games during the Cavs run.

I've been saying that for years and everyone is like "but OMG he is the best center in the game".

Andy is the either the best or the second best center in the league(Kevin Love).

You do realize that Steve Nash has only played 2 games for a total of 50 minutes so far this season right? I'm all for bashing the Lakers and the train wreck that this team currently is, but to do it based off of Steve Nash and talking about how painful it is to watch him? I suppose you could have video taped those two games and just replay them constantly, but that'd just be weird.

I've said that as well. He's a soft baby. I was a fan of his when he first came into the league, but after his antics during his last few years in Orlando he can fuck off. Throwing Van Gundy under the bus and then bitching out when called on it was a total bitch move.

I think they'd be a good team if they at least tried. It's almost like 2/3'rds of the starters don't give a rats ass.

MWP was on Hot 97's morning show today and said exactly that. Shit play resulting from the lack of a "collective effort" by the team.

Which is just a polite way of saying Kobe shoots too much.

It's obvious that Kobe isn't the most desirable teammate. I expect him to start ranting about his current roster sometime after the new year.

Yes...I realize that. He also played in 9 exhition games. The games he played in the Lakers were 0-11. I watched him play twice. The reason why it was painful relates to how far he has decined in a year...year and a half. Only Stockton could be mentioned in his league for the all time best P and R plays. Now, he's washed up. Period. Obviously...it's not just him.

And that is all you guys need to know. The Lakers will make the playoffs. Hopefully it is an 8 seed though, so the Cavs can get that pick.

LOL, that's hilarious and clever. I'll have to start using that. Thanks for the tip.

So 9 Lakers exhibition games? Generally teams only play 8... but beyond that, you say you only watched him play twice, which I'm doubting as people rarely watch preseason games of teams they aren't even fans of.

Even so, they weren't even really using the pick and roll in the preseason games as they were trying to work on using the Princeton offense.

Like I said, bash the Lakers all you want, but to try to bash Nash on his very limited minutes so far this year is ridiculous. I'm also not even a Nash fan, ya he was fun to watch with the Suns in that offense, but I don't think he should have won two MVP's.

#7 seed....or they blow it up around ASB

I was never convinced Howard was the cure all.

Kobe would be ahead to move on....Lakers won't add on or change coaches.

Fly4Fun already beat me to this but LOL at using preseason games (and also, didn't Howard play in like half of those games anyways?).
As for the thread, I think they can eventually make a run and sneak into the 6-8 seed.
