New York Jets backup quarterback Tim Tebow revealed after Thursday night's loss to the New England Patriots he fractured two ribs in the game against the Seattle Seahawks on Nov. 11 and did not play a snap against the Pats because of the injury.
"As the week went on, it seemed to get progressively worse. He practices and things, but a couple of days ago, I noticed him and could tell he was hurt," Ryan said. "His breathing was a little different. I was standing there and I was like, 'I'm not going to play this kid.' I wouldn't play my son in that kind of situation."
"In my mind, I'll be ready to go when they need me and whatever I can do for the team, that's my mindset," he said. "That's what I was ready to do (Thursday)."

"I had to do a little bit of talking just to dress but I just want to be there for my teammates in case they needed me in an emergency situation," Tebow said after the Jets' 49-19 loss to the Patriots.
Tebow said he wasn't sure when he suffered the injury against Seattle.
"(I) didn't really notice; I kept playing and started to feel it later," he said.
"I was ready to go if they needed me; I was not ideal," Tebow said, "but I wanted to be there for my teammates."
