That number by itself may not mean much, but it’s the very best in the league so far—better than the total compiled by Tom Brady, Aaron Rodgers, Drew Brees and everyone else
My god, your penis radar must go off like crazy when RGIII is mentioned anywhere.

I'm starting to warm up to Weeden, at least enough that I dont want to waste a pick on a guy like Barkley next year.

lol. I'm glad I quit ignoring you to read this. That one actually was funny.

    haha......penis radar.

I'm sure Weeden will work out just fine for Cleveland. The Browns success since returning to the league is unparalleled.

Crunching the numbers, this offense is up almost 50 yards per game and almost a 10 point increase in points per game. Weeden has been far from flawless but this defense is killing them.

Says a lot of what people were saying on here about the 3rd & 1 call...

When your missing your best guy in the secondary, your biggest d linemen, and your 2nd best run stopping linebacker (gocong... and actually now Dqwell is out) your defense is bound to put up shit performances like that. Regardless, there was no pass rush today. I was pretty disappointed in that.

If we want to look at a positive though, the Browns have only given up 1 sack the past 2 games.

I agree that Haden, Taylor & Gocong are big losses but I don't know how much better the D would be with them. Yes, it would be better but I'm skeptical that the almost 28 ppg given up would be much lower.

I wouldn't be too disappointed in the pass rush. The Eagles didn't get to Manning last week, I believe, and they have a much better pass rush. Don't think Eli gets sacked much.

I would have to say those 3 on the field would = 1 less touchdown per game imo, but it really doesn't matter, they aren't on the field. As you know I am not as down on the defense as you are. I really think a few more pieces and they could be pretty legit, but that is of course considering if everyone is healthy. Winn and Hughes getting reps is a blessing in disguise.

I suppose you are right about the pass rush, but it just seemed like there was no pressure at all. I can't recall one play where Eli really had to rush his throw or he had to get out of the pocket.

Oh, I think with a stud pass rushing DE, a legit corner opposite of Haden and a terrorizing linebacker this defense will be formidable. They just aren't now.

If you would've told me this team would be averaging a TD more offensively (20 ppg) than last year, I would've thought the defense would have at least helped deliver one "W."

I would have thought the same, unless you also told me "joe haden is going to be a dumb fuck and take adderall as a party favor thus resulting in a 4 game suspension against teams with stud WR's."

Hopefully Haden can help slow down AJ Green this week but I'm not counting on it.

Me neither... I count on him being pretty rusty and needing a game to adjust to game speed.

Even rusty he's gotta be better than friggin' Skrine.

Coaching: Pat Shurmur’s decision to pass on third-and-1 from the Giants’ 25 cannot be defended in any way. That is not the reason the franchise traded two draft picks to move up one spot and select Richardson. Ex-Giants and ex-Browns linebacker Carl Banks, a Giants analyst, was beside himself at halftime trying to figure that out. Shurmur’s post-game comments, heaping the blame on Weeden, compounded the unfortunate day for the coach. Bottom line: He says he gets it. The question is, get what?
Shurmur was terribly defensive/combative with the media in his post game presser.

I think sometimes he is coaching/watching a different game than everyone else because he doesn't seem to have any clue.

This is true, and what everyone was saying at the backers bar. I feel like skrine would do better against a #2 guy at least. He would be more comfortable. None of those guys seemed comfortable covering #1 guys.

Skrine should only be covering the slot, imo. A lot of those receivers are smaller/shiftier guys that he might be able to handle.

As far as your earlier comment on the defense, I'd have no issue loading up on defense with their 1st & 3rd along with adding a key defender or two in FA. Finnegan (Rams) has made a world of difference giving that D an "edge." Has also helped out Janoris Jenkins. That type of FA pickup could pay immediate dividends.

I had to tweet hadens ass today. I was pretty pissed off. But with that being said I like screen in the slot and dime. Other than that I hate it. Patterson was seen in a walking boot so I highly doubt he plays this week, so I don't know if they sign a free agent DB this week?

Isn't taylor suppose to be back this week or next? He has to be getting close.. I really think the first round of the draft as of right now they go either old corner de or safety. Maybe veteran wide out if gordan keeps producing like he did today.

Speaking of losing streaks, there's a generation of Cleveland children growing up with no memory of a Browns victory. Pat Shurmur's 0-5 team has dropped 11 games in a row, dating to Week 11 of last season. Since starting last year 2-1, Cleveland is just 2-16 in its past 18 games.[LEFT]

This is from CNNsi's Don Bank's snap judgment column.

2-16 in their last 18 games.

How does Shurmur still have a job?

For that matter, how does Heckert/Holmgren still have a job for having allowed such a catastrophic hire?

I hope the kick back's Bob Lamont was giving were worth it because these guys blew it by hiring someone so clearly over their head and unprepared for the job.

Shurmer didn't overthrow a wide open receiver 8 yards away from the quarterback. I've got a lot more problems with Shurmar/Jeuron* sp. than the offensive playcalling.

I never saw even one blitz in the entire game. 4 man rush, no rush schemes or even a 3 man rush on a zone blitz...even on obvious passing routes.

That's because with our defensive backs, they were absolutely terrified to leave them on an island. Not blaming Haden for any of our losses, but he is a game changer when he is out there....and also the captain of the DB's, since he has been gone, they have just seemed really lost.

I think Taylor can't return until after week 6 (this week).
