Reds at Cards, game 1
-
mhs95_060-0 after one inning. Every time I watch these two teams play, I am amazed how much more the Cards hustle on the bases compared to the Reds. A routine force out at 2B to end the Cards' 1st almost wasn't due to the great hustle.
-
justincredibleI would love to knock the Cards out of the playoffs here. Sweep em and hope the Dodgers take care of business. At least forcing a play in play in would be nice. Force them to burn another pitcher.

Amen! -
justincredibleBP gets it done.
-
se-alumBP knocks in Stubbs, who I assume was HBP.
-
Midstate01Stubbs infield single, bunt moves him up, Bp gets him in and gives the first fu to St. Louis.

justincredibleJaime Garcia. What a dick.

The incorrectly called DP on Descalso was due to BP being non-chalant on the throw...bailed out by the ump. -

What happened? Did he mention fried chicken and watermelon? -
Ironman92Dusty said he's gonna have to sneak out for some soul food and Thom said no doubt Dusty will find a way to get some collared greens. Lol...then he said soul food three times to cover it up.

mhs95_06Hanigan's great play really helps Simon get a zero in the 7th! About like Valdez' great throw to nail the runner at 3rd yesterday to help Chapman get that save he didn't deserve.
-
Ironman92Al Borland in for the save.
-
mhs95_06Reds pitching, helped immensely by their defense, just doesn't seem dominant enough to overcome their underwhelming offense against the good pitching of most of the good teams in the playoffs.

To be honest, I worry about the playoff pressure on guys like Cueto, Latos, and Bailey as well. I don't really have high expectations for this team in the playoffs. I would love to see them get through the first round.mhs95_06;1284993 wrote:Reds pitching, helped immensely by their defense, just doesn't seem dominant enough to overcome their underwhelming offense against the good pitching of most of the good teams in the playoffs.
