Will Tebow be named the Jets starter before week 9?

You don't owe me a shirt for McElroy but if sanchez gets benched i was still right and I'd like site to be named after me for a week instead.
    lol, ok.

Brady or Manning couldn't win with that bunch of scrubs.
Are you a Dolphins fan? Please tell me you are not.

Ummmm no, I have grown accustom to us losing games we should win, nothing to be butt hurt about. The kid can't play QB, he can help them in other ways but starting QB isn't one of them. He averages less than 100 yards per game and completes 47% of his passes for his career, if it were anyone else we would be calling them garbage.

Tebow started 11 games last year and 3 the year before and has 2383 yards passing. What kind of math are people using coming up with he averages less than 100 ypg? If youre gonna bash the guy you can at least not just completely make shit up. Also has 900 yards and 12 tds rushing but hey im sure that doesnt matter either.

Was going off the numbers O-Trap posted, Tebow can help a team but in no way shape or form at qb, he led the league in 3 and outs last year to go along with the other awful numbers. To each his own I suppose, if you believe he can play then good for you, there is a reason nobody wanted him this offseason.

Was using Pro Football Reference, but I think I divided by the total number of regular season games in which he appeared, which doesn't necessarily mean he passed, given his unusual circumstances. My bad.

The total number of passing yards divided by the number of games started makes it 170.9 passing yards per game started.*

    * - The site above says he has 2,393 passing yards on his regular season career, so I went with that.

As for the running, it counts toward him being a football player, sure, but it doesn't make someone a better quarterback. It's like a bonus question at the end of a quiz.

Look, if the Jets had any other backup, ANYONE, I'd be calling for Sanchez's head. Seriously, though. Start McElroy.

So 170 yards passing plus a little over 50 rush YPG(knocked off 200 from career considering he ran some in the games he just played and didnt start) 220 YPG and doesnt turn the ball over much. Pretty decent stats for someone with only 14 career starts. Let me say this once again, i DONT think hell ever be some great QB or even much better than average but to say he has NO chance and cant improve is foolish IMO.

McElroy might miss the kick-off time Justin.

Oh I would never say anything of the sort. I personally think he'd be a good fullback TODAY, without having to improve much. With his size, he's definitely been blessed as a good runner, and I think he would flourish best at that kind of position.

And again, running stats for a QB are tricky, because it's entirely possible that another player on the team could have garnered those yards. Running for a QB is like a bonus. I say that because a good passing quarterback who cannot move (see Peyton Manning) can still be a very productive quarterback, while a good running quarterback who cannot pass will not be.

One thing I do have to say that he definitely has over Sanchez is that he appears more methodical in his execution. That is to say that I think he has a better mind for a QB, and honestly, I think that is precisely WHAT makes him as serviceable as he is.

But all that to say, he could one day be a starter-quality quarterback (for a lesser team ... similar to someone like Matt Cassel or Josh Freeman), but I think he could be one of the better, more versatile fullbacks in the league TODAY.

No, he's not...and Cutler is not good.

At the beginning of the season I would have said no, but after the last few weeks I say yes.

Solid - still rather have Tebowie get the start and get a t shirt ha.

Jets go 2-4 and Patriots go 4-2 I think Rex has to change it up to keep it close in the division. I think 2-5 there's no way he doesn't start week 8. With my luck he'll start week 9.

LOL - "The Jets want to be the 49ers when they grow up. The 49ers have a great defense, a quotable, high-energy coach and a two-quarterback system that works. If you go to the dollar store and ask for the San Francisco 49ers, they will give you the New York Jets. "

People were saying because of injury thinking it would be Sanchez who's hurt, not their star offense players other than QB.

If Jets have any shot to win, let Tebow pull another rabbit out of his arse.

Holmes is out for the year with Lisfranc foot injury. Isn't he the one who shot himself in the foot?

Plaxico, and it was his leg.

I remember now, Holmes is Fred Taylor's cousin. Muck city.

I'd say you're a lock for that T-shirt now Raw Dawg after last night's performance.

Fred "Glass Legs" Taylor was a whole new level of injury-proneness. The only current player I can think of who belongs in his camp right now is Beanie "Swells" Wells. That dude is a walking "Doubtful" tag even when healthy.
