Will the NFL die off?

  • SnotBubbles
With all of this "head trauma" talk going on right now...it's either "correct it" or "end it" in my opinion. I'm not sure there is a way to "correct it." So will the trauma being caused on football players cause the NFL and Football Americana to eventually....cease to exist?

Will the government step in and end the game most responsible for lifelong injuries?

I hope not, but I'm just asking the question.

Not in the next 15 years....likely not at all

Just watch the numbers and participation of the youth leagues....if their concussions rise then it could down the road.

Where I live it won't....we are ridiculously everything football

Seau's initial autopsy showed no brain trauma, FWIW.

Helmets and other gear will become safer.

I highly doubt we will ever see football shut down. The money generated will drive kids to play the game. I think the equipment will get better and you will see less of these injuries.

There are safer helmets than what the NFL uses currently...I wouldn't mind seeing those being utilized.

Terry Bradshaw, I believe, said that the NFL in 10-15 years from now would be different from what it is. He didn't go on to say "how" different, but that it would be different.

The thing I would like to see is less head trauma on kids. No need to start full-pad, tackle football in 3rd grade or before. That's way too early. It's dumb. It makes no sense. I wish they'd quit that.

I dont know if you really see alot of concussions at the lower levels. The helmets are pretty good, and you dont see the type of collisions and hitting at the lower levels.

Most of the teams in our league dont even have youth FB and dont intend to.

Only 1 way to make the game safer: ban helmets

I agree. Youth tackle football shouldn't start before 5th grade.
